I used to shoot film. (one)

My first real camera was a Pentax K1000, I used it up until 2003 when I received a fancy new digital camera as a gift. I've used digital ever since, but still have fond feelings for my old manual camera and the photos I shot with it. These are some of those photos.

Cataloged.

Contemplation.

Who is watching whom?

Charlie in SF.

What's the next move?

Semi-grand entrance.

Oh, that's stinks! All of my negatives are in a pile at the bottom of my closet, I need to buy something to put them in.

Very cool that you still shoot film, it doesn't seem like there are too many film people around anymore. I would definitley like to get back into it.

I also started with a Pentax K1000, A camera that I was very fond of and still have to this day but now it is collecting cob webs because I like the convienence of digital, Pentax has a DSLR out now that is compatible with all of your old Pentax lenses that have ever been made.
Nice shots!!

My first 35mm was a canon f1...completely manual..but I am probably much older than you. It still takes the best pics ever, but I am very happy with my canon rebel (d20). I appreciate your affinity to film.

I think you would make amazing and unique pictures with either film or digital, Mourci. My feeling is....it is all in what we see with our eyes. :)

I love the look of black and white film. It's so crisp. These are really good.

My first camera was a Minolta X-700. I still have it, but it's broken. With digital, I like the fact that I can more easily organize them and I can take experimental shots more freely. I can also decide later on if I want to see it in B&W. But all of the prints that I have framed were all shot on film (so I haven't shared them here).

My Canon F1 was stolen a number of years ago. Along with about 5 grand worth of lenses. It broke my heart, but I made the move to digital. I can still find the occasional F1 in camera stores, but it's like trying to buy a new puppy, you know it will never be the same. Now film is becoming a dying art and I think fondly of my old Canon that could drive tent pegs into the ground.

Great photos above!

-HunterProductions-Thank you! It would definitely be nice to use the old Pentax lenses with a newer camera instead of them collecting dust!

-Experience-Grazie!

-Mashpee_Paula-Thank you! I feel the same, that it's not about the camera, but what we see. I'd shoot with a disposable camera if that was all I had! haha.

-Mthorne & Sheila-Thank you both so much!

-JeffS-I think one of the best things about digital is that you can take as many shots as you want and not waste any money. I hated that with film, I'd only get a couple photos per roll I liked. But with film, there was more of a sense of accomplishment when I'd take a photo that I liked.

-DVP-I'm so sorry about your camera and lenses! I can't begin to image how it would feel to suddenly not have my camera.

Great pics. I would not want to go back to film. But then again I am not a professional. I really like these!

I used to shoot film too way back in'98. And I have yet to scan and share these digitally. Am sure you'd have a great collection there. These are just outstanding. Great contrast and tone.
