You have captured the festive , quaint ,yet modern feelings of beauiful Quebec CIty with the fabulous night shots....i love the beautiful solitude, and feeling of wide open space in the first 2
so well done..i have enjoyed your whole series on my country...did you get to Toronto? ;)

This is my favourite of your travels and not because it is a spectacular city, but because you have captured it's amazing art and architecture so well. I have decided to land there for sure when I plan my major trip to north America. #2 is my favourite for it's painterly brick wall and superb composition. Your lead photo and titling is exquisitely framed with bare trees and trampled snow. This deserves TOD for sure. Mike.

this is classic Edu! just when I thought I'd seen it all!!! this is the Québec, tourists Canadian Montrealers (and 1 Brazilian) love. it's quaint, it's Nouvelle France and it's the coldest place on earth-and your photos show that too somehow! I never thought of taking a photo of Chateau Laurier peeking over the wall!! hey maybe we can send them a link to your tab and you'll get a free room there next time??
ps all we're missing is Celine singing that Titanic song.................
Hubbley said at 11:26 a.m. on Jan 22, 2009:

Wonderful shots ! ! !

Once again, a brilliant tabblo, Eduardo! I agree with others who have pointed out how well you have successfully captured the artistic side of Quebec, not to mention the snow-y winter - I love the fifth and sixth shots. As for the night shots - they are outstanding. I will be back to study this tabblo again later.

Pic #5 is my favorite. Salut Edu.

A magic city, indeed. The snow certainly added something more..................and those fantastic "trompe l'oeil"s; I have seen something similar in France (Avignone, Carpentras, Paris), but not so big and beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!More photos, please, of that wonderful trip.......Ciao, ciao

Beautiful city. My favorite is no.5. Beautiful use of "black and white" subjects there. :)

I love the very last photo Eduardo~ it seems that it could be centuries old (I'll pretend those are candles glowing) and has such a quaint "Dickens" style...LOVE THIS TABBLO!

Thank you a lot, MIKE, CHRIS, ROBERT, DAVID, MARGALIT, MARIAN, CELIA, DOREEN, GAZELLE, THIERRY, LOES, ANDRE, SETU, PAT, ANGELA & JAMES.

DEBBIE: Yes, I visited Toronto, and will be posting some photos of your hometown as soon as I have time enough to look at all of them (I took hundreds!) and select those which do justice to that great city.

MIKE: I fell in love with Québec the first time I visited it, about 25 years ago. Ok, I was younger and it's easier to fall in love at that age, but now I see it's that rare case of eternal love. It does deserve a visit. Being your TOD is the best compliment I could get!

PAM: I think anyone becomes an Eulipions when in Québec...

ANNELIES: A (free!) room in this chateau would be a great gift for my 50th birthday, next year. Ok, I try to make that deal with the hotel management and you use your contacts to hire Celine for a private show, ok? I'm sure my heart will go on...

JUDIT: Your photos will be posted today or tomorrow, I'm working on them. I missed you and Hubbley during this trip to Canada, because I'm sure you'd have enjoyed it a lot. Perfect place for your next honeymoon...
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:03 a.m. on Jan 24, 2009:
NOREEN: Will you "study" this series later? Don't look too much, otherwise you'll find all my mistakes...

MIRELLA: These "trompe l'oeils" are the best I've ever seen. There were many of them around the city, portraiting classical paintings, daily actitivies etc. They are one more reason to visit Québec.

MONICA: Québec is much closer than Paris - and much better, in my opinion...

ROBBI: I'm already back to real life - or should I say "to Rio life"? :) These were wonderful vacations, and I'm already dreaming of the next ones.

JIGS: Fairy tale is the right expression to describe the atmosphere of this lovely city.

LINDA: My night photography has a looooooong way ahead, but I'm doing my best.

ANNELIES: No, no sign of Celine. Fortunatelly....

RHONDA: I thought of Dickens, too, when I arrived at that square!! It was like I was traveling in time.
Hollyridger said at 12:10 p.m. on Jan 24, 2009:
Eduardo, perhaps I should have used the words "further enjoy" rather than "study"!! Don't worry, there is not a chance of my finding your mistakes!!!
Mjpileggi said at 3:35 p.m. on Jan 24, 2009:
"Québec is much closer than Paris - and much better, in my opinion..." Yes, much closer for me, but I will be in Paris this May!

Liliana said at 12:57 p.m. on Jan 29, 2009:
¿Es una ciudad real o la de Papá NOel...? Increíble, no se sabe qué es fantasía y qué realidad: esos edificios pintados, las luces, castillos que parecen emerger de la nada. ¿Ahí empezaste el año, no?
Liliana said at 1:00 p.m. on Jan 29, 2009:
Me quedé pensando... ¿llamarías trampantojos a las pinturas en las paredes...? No me animé a escribirlo antes, no son nada convencionales... También mezclan, me parece.
EMA said at 5:07 p.m. on Feb 1, 2009:
Adorei! O grande castelo, ou palácio, é fabuloso, tanto de dia como nas fotos nocturnas. Uma cidade mágica assim iluminada.
