Lynx at Racine Zoo

She hasn't been at this zoo for long, but she has quickly won top spot in my heart as my favorite animal to visit

Since she was a rescue case from Canada, she must have liked the bitter cold we were having

If not for the beard, bobbed tail, ear tips and enormous paws, she could pass for a housecat

Back and forth she ran around her enclosure, chasing us, meowing, playing and being the most charismatic animal in the zoo

Sometimes she was curious about what the tiger was up to

Sometimes she just chilled

It was particularly thrilling when she walked right up to the fence, sat down, and hung out with us

Sleepy kitty - with sharp fangs

Though she was an adult cat, her paws seemed inordinately large for her body and I was constantly watching those huge paws

Don't you just want to take her home?

I think she'd be happy living at my house with me

This is what it looks like when a lynx is stalking you, about to pounce -- it's all the warning you get

Whether she was climbing the mountainous walls or laying in front of us looking quite casual, her wildness was very apparent

What a beauty!

What a beauty! I wonder what ailment caused her to be held in a zoo?
