I've often wondered why they named it the Golden Gate Bridge. Unless I'm colour blind, it's red. Nice shots.

The bridge is named for its location on "The Golden Gate", the entrance to the San Francisco Bay. The Golden Gate reprensts the opportunity to experience the Golden opportunities available in the West! The gold rush, the golden hills and the chance for adventure. We do live in a land of Golden opportunities, just look at the White House and we can all realize the potential to succeed! :) I really love the photo of the bridge in the rearview mirror taken at the parking Lot of Fort Pointe. Fort Pointe was built to protect the Golden Gate; however by the time the Fort was finished the technology of warfare made it obsolete and not a good defense point. The fort is a museum and was nearly demolished. The bridge is wonderful to walk and stand in the Golden Gate to reflect on life and our wonderful land of Ameria!

I was just going to say that. Thank you for giving us the great info.

Thanks for the info Dmaier. Too bad I wasn't able to visit the museum in Fort Pointe. That rearview shot was actually the reflection of the bridge from my sister's sunglasses. I was kind of frustrated not to be able to capture the sky's right shade of blue but I was thrilled when I noticed her glasses worked like filter reflecting a nice angle of the bridge. She thought I was taking her close-up smile. Haha!
