Superb! You have such a talent to capture these amazing faces and expressions

These wonderful people photos are low key shots and would benefit by being viewed against a dark background. My favourite if I had to choose is #8 & #17. #8's strength is the colour of skin tone almost matching the background and creating a duotone effect with blue being the other colour. The dark deep set eyes and lack of catchlight in this case hides the soul forcing us to look at his wrinkled skin and amazing features. #17 is that vacant stare and strong bone structure and I can't choose between them. Given time I think I will get to like #17 more for it's relaxed and natural pose. In fact I have already grown very fond of it, while trying to justify my comment. Mike.

Wow, such marvelously wonderful and expressive faces. Excellent.

Truly awesome portraits of ordinary people. I like them all, but the last one is my favourite. The young girl looks totally unaware of the camera, lost in uneasy thought. She seems very vulnerable.

Il y a tant d'amour dans ces beaux regards... Merci !

Hi all,

Mike I always wait for you comments. My favorite are #3 and #5, this is the same girl I have met in Badshahi mosque in Lahore, in different light her eye color changed from blue to green.
I love all this pictures, portraits taking is amazing, there is this one short second, a blink of an eye when I feel like me and that other person are the only 2 people in the world ... lifetime for a moment like this ...

Thank all of you for your visits and comment's. Special THANKS to Pam for Testimonial - you made my day :)

These are good for National Geographics, GEO or Merian. Each of those pictures tell a tale, but I am most touched by the first and the last one, where part of the story visibly lies in the shadow.

One World. The eyes tell it all (in these photos) The last picture is.. moving, I can't say why. The expression, sadness, hope... Beautiful portraits.
Pkeener said at 5:50 p.m. on Jan 28, 2009:
I am just awed by the way these strangers let you in. By looking into your camera with such unguarded expressions. You were able to establish a trust, or at the minimum, a small window of permission into their world. Remarkable.
I like #7. with the jokester a bit out of focus, we still look at him, but the focus is on the beautiful eyes belonging to the child in forground.

Sensitive portraits. The one-on-one connection that you felt in the moment the shutter clicked is part of their strength. Each one is a world.

I just love this SO much...I am timid about taking photos of people. In America...the "image" thing seems to get in the way...people think that they are too fat or they don't like their teeth or they think the photo makes them look funny...they don't realize their beauty...the sheer beauty of being a human being. Anyway...got any tips for putting people at ease so that they will enjoy the photo experience? Thanks and BRAVO!
