I normally passed by Rotterdam to go to Den Haag, never had a chance to visit this busiest port in the world. Love the sculptures in the park.

Very beautiful smooth mirror surface and ideal clearness of lines of skyscrapers. Interesting sculptures. A very beautiful beacon, quay and tower cranes. Perfect houses with windows and light. Very beautiful photos!

Sculptures, grafeti, and towering buildings certainly add a New York feel to Rotterdam.

Fantastic photos: the skyscrapers are amazing ! the old town can be seen only in the reflections , but the new architecture is fassinating. I like the photo of the red crane most. Ciao

Thank you Den, Fabio, David, Robert, Susan, Ira, Linda, Annelies en Mirella for comming by and leaf a comment,
About the graffity, from October 17, 2008 there are many texts of Erasmus to find on buildings, pavement tiles and shop windows. 2011, the Erasmus year, because 500 years ago the book, "Praise of foolishness" was issued. See more about Erasmus; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desiderius_Erasmus.

WOW ! ! Tall buildings. To work in these tall buildings, I would wear a fast opening chute all day in case of fires. Great job ! ! ! !

Thank you Loes and Doreen. I'm glad that my work is on the first floor off a building with 2 layers surrounded with a lot of green.

I find the skyscrapers dull and impersonal, lacking the personality of the older buildings and the sculptures. They appear to be hiding something behind their glass facade. I do like the angles in which you captured them.

Thank you Debra, Marian and photopop for comming by.

Now I remember....Erasmus from Rotterdam.....I studied in the school about him...........and about foolishness.

Hi Gerard, #s 1 and 2 are awesome favourites for their dusky shades of blue and great examples of "man's" endeavours. It is a great time to be out and about for those tints of blue and glowing reflections, if there is a late setting sun to contrast in the glass reflections. The secret of success is those clear skies and placing the red crane/lighthouse and yellow window light along side them. Mike.
