My Top Ten Tabblos

This was meant to celebrate my 400th (!!!) tabblo, that happened a dozen tabs ago,

but it took me much more time than I expected.

 

These are my works I like the most - not always the most favorited, seldom the most visited

- but I achieved some goals by making them.

 

One of them displays only my friend's photos

and that's why they it is so beautiful, that's why I like it so much.

400 Tabblos?! That's amazing. I recognize a lot of these wonderful works of art. Congratulations to you. What would Tabblo be without people like you? You and your photographs are one of the things that bring me back to Tabblo even when life seems too busy. Bravo!

IRA, when I look at the date these tabblos were posted I notice I was more creative years ago. Or is it just my imagination?

ROBBI: There's no quality without effort, but effort alone doesn't make miracles. I think my photos are better now (well, I have a better cam, took some classes, learnt a lot from most tabbloers) but I still prefer my earlier tabs.

JILL: I'm flattered. Hope I'll keep giving you (good) reasons to check my photos once in a while. By the way, we have been friends since I first posted on Tabblo, and that's something to be celebrated, too.

EDuardo: ¡¡¡tarea dificilísima, una locura!!! Pensé que no tenías tiempo para nada... Me fascinó volver a ver estas bellezas, cada una es un momento, un estado tuyo, un mensaje diferente. No pienso elegir uno, aunque me gratifica y alegra profundamente ver "Saudade", ya por sí la palabra, ahí... Porque, ¿qué son las fotos, de agún modo, más que un intento de abolir o , lo contrario, tener presente a saudade...?
Tabblo variado, íntimo y social. Un regalo para los amigos... Siempre recuerdo las fotos de "Curumim"...

Imposible verlo sólo una vez: muy interesante que hayas escapado a lo esperado: fotos del carnaval, de Río, de la playa. Me resulta muy muy significativo ver dos veces el tema de los libros. Significativo y "alegrante" (¡¡no existe esa palabra, claro!!), hasta diría conmovedor. Recuerdo perfectamente el Tabblo de qué leía cada uno (te mandé mis fotos muy tarde, debo rever, creo que casi nadie leyó lo mío). Y, tiempo después, yo recibí prestado el libro sobre Schopenhauer...¡¡lo leí en Brasil!! Claro, era una lectura con tus fotos "de fondo", un semidiálogo con vos, aunque casual.
También me llega profundamente el de la fiesta pueblerina, no puedo dejar de pensar en Esmeraldas y tantos poblados de acá, en su gente, sus expresiones... Hasta me viene a la mente aquel octubre del 83, tu visita en plena campaña presidencial.
Aquellas peras que se "esquecen numa fruteira" son LAS peras de la canción, son la canción misma. Ya no sé qué escribí en ese momento pero sí me acuerdo del impacto de creatividad, de originalidad, que recibí. Ahora me resulta imposible escuchar la música sin tener presentes estas peras...

Volví a "The book...": no lo escribí antes, otro motivo de verte reflejado ahí son las lenguas. Ese Tabblo es perfecto: un homenaje a los libros (diversos, múltiples, únicos) y a los idiomas (sutiles, flexibles y tambén, únicos).
No me vas a creer pero ¡acabo de decir "(El libro) está sobre la mesa"! Rodri me preguntó dónde estaba un atlas y... esa fue mi respuesta ¿condicionada? Después de hablar, percibí lo gracioso de la situación.

OK chill out my friend, here comes the REAL comment: your tabs are all over my favorites, so that should tell you how I feel about them. Always colorful, exotic, philosophical, romantic (sometimes when you don't throw the Barbies against the wall hehe) how could you have possibly picked 10 out of 400??? I like the "tabblo addict" one, I think I told you did once before: for a Brazilian your humor is pretty darn north American!!! LOL LOL I like the pears because of the poem and "of love and..." which shows your WICKED side!! ok back to the tv and hot lemon tea!

Parabens pelos 400 tabblos. São todos sempre muito bons mas não posso deixar de registrar mais uma vez minha predileção sobre " degenerate art" que me deixou uma vontade enorme de imprir e colocar na parede da minha sala. Que venham mais 400!

As fotografias que também são poéticas, revelam a luz como quem usa as palavras e definem composições como quem constrói versos.
Estudadas ou espontâneas, umas vezes rimam e têm métrica, outras tantas são livres e sem amarras gramaticais.
De qualquer destas formas podem nascer os mais belos "tabblos, que revelam os sentimentos e a genialidade de quem os faz.... e que tocam o ser de quem os "vê"!

Banal ou invulgar, belo ou feio, claro ou confuso, rico ou pobre, perto ou longe, novo ou velho, morto ou vivo, grande ou pequeno, alegre ou triste... Tudo é relativizado na fotografia, tal como o valor e o significado que palavras iguais podem ter na escrita de poetas diferentes.

Há fotografias poema e há poemas com mil imagens!

LILIANA: A paixão pelos livros veio bem antes desta pela fotografia (e pelo leiaute das imagens), e era de se esperar que uma permeasse a outra, não? Só que a escolha foi intuitiva, nada elaborada. Suponho que, com outros critérios (ou melhor, com algum critério) esses 10 seriam outros - ou talvez nem fossem 10.

why would "north american humor" be an insult? it isn't to me. it just reminded me a lot of David Letterman's Top Ten list- which is hilarious as far as I am concerned- as far as "wicked" goes, I meant your "arty wicked" side, pierced bodies, dismantled dolls.. there is something "wicked" about that no? maybe I should have stopped at "bwana". or "cool, awesome", Edu. good job.

Leftie: sorry, I have written my comment in Spanish, so I will translate the idea for you. I said that I think that Eduardo´s humor is not near North American (I thought "USA", but it is wrong: North America is Canada, Mexico and USA). Of course, it is my personal opinion, maybe I don´t know a lot about North American humor (of course, I have to say that I don´t anything about Canadian humor, and a little about USA and perhaps a little more about Mexican one).
I prefer other humor style , not the USA humor that I know (I repeat, I am not an expert in this subject). So, I think Eduardo´s humor is not very similar than the USA style that I know (maybe only a 1%...).
I think each one see a different thing in a person, in a pic, in a text... So, for me the Tabblo is a place where I can write, when I want, and express my ideas. If other people don´t agree, sorry... I am not using any insult and I have never used one in the Tabblo, I don´t want to offend anybody. If anybody feels bad, I can feel sorry but with a limit, in the case that the comment is not totally read or understood.

I think we were writing at the same time because I was merely replying to Eduardo's comment (trying to take it as a "compliment" which is the opposite of "insult") and not yours. So everything's cool.

hey, edu! congrats on making the 400-tabblo mark! there i was celebrating my 100th, and here you are with 400 awesome tabs. i feel like a midget compared to a giant. hehe! all of these are top-notch works of art. i may have missed some of them, but those i didn't i loved instantly (i hope to catch up with your tabblos soon enough). your humour and passion show in all of these. and i sincerely admire the effort and patience and heart you've given through all these years making your tabblos. congratulations again, mi amigo! =)
