The Painted Hydrants Walking Tour in Carlsbad Village, Ca. Twenty-six fire hydrants have been adopted by the local businesses and individuals to promote art, activity and community involvement. The hydrants, painted by local artists and students, reflects the many faces and facets of Carlsbad. I was able to get a little over half of the hydrants on this visit then for some reason I became very thirsty.

Fun thing to do Jude; we have whales here that were painted by local artists and then the city auctioned them off to private individuals and companys. There's a list on line of where they all are and one of these days I intend to photograph them all.
