Ash-Like Snow

It was late at night

My body telling me to sleep,

I switched off the light

Awaiting the forty-winks I will soon reap.

But before I could hold her hand...

My dream had ended; dissipated into ash-like snow.

When I had regained consciousness,

I came to realize;

even after resorting to the realm of dreams,

to flee the pang of love never returned,

At the end of it all,

No matter how cliche or unique it may be,

LOVE WAS NEVER  MEANT TO BE

To my dismay, I did not fall asleep

For my consciousness did venture to the land of dreams, bringing back memories I will forevermore keep.

It was dark, for it was night

But the stars, parked above, made it unusually bright.

My mind brought me to a park,

the place where love will first spark.

Walking on the hard path, in the distance I did see,

The source of happiness to the infinite degree.

As far as I can remember, it began with a simple hello

that bloomed to a grace only a God could bestow.

The passage of time was oblivious to our senses

that the world seemed like mere pretenses.

Nevertheless, I knew it was time to go.

Honestly really Douglas I really find your tabblo really great. I can't stop reading it again and again. The words fit like lego pieces and a puzzle. It's really great. I am deeply affected by this. Btw is this connected to filling the void? hehehehe Anyway Really great Douglas

Douglas! You can get ToD again for sure! All your works are so good... And the words here, like Dustin has said, fit together so wonderfully. You've fished out the right words to use indeed. If I could vote for ToD, I'd vote this one. :D Hope you find your true love soon... Invite me to the wedding. :P

Oh! And let me just point out how much I love the "ash-like snow" line. It's great, and I've never seen anything like it. Love is like ash-like snow - quick to dissipate, blow away, and it is as pure as snow and as impure as ash. Hmm... I see a Shakespeare in the making...
