how i envy this tabblo, allan. photos captured on film always seem to be much more substantial and have greater impact. thank you very much for sharing these. =)

What a great set of B & W. The one's of Marigold & Jon in the cornfield are terrific.

Negatives are like hidden treasures, time capsules. Nice.

this tab was a real joy to view!! even though we don't know anyone on these photos (except for YOU looking a lot like a skinny Lou Reed!) they are so representative of the groovy 70s, the hair, the beards, the gypsy skirts. B/W the best of course for these classics. I can see these portraits in a 70s retrospective photography book. The winter ride with Don & Cindy is my favorite.

It is the wonderful reporting about life. A history about life. About the familiar people. About familiar places. The very warm and sincere attitude in each photo. The photographer liked that he photographed. Any unusual time. Not such fast and stressful as now. Remarkable time. Time of the poets? It is a remarkable family album.

yes the collective feeling of the moment is what makes these so charming, and so sadly distant. having lived though this time i guess i miss it. makes me nostalgic. love the tribute to what has to be a long gone dog.

David, Marius, Mike, Den, Andre, Eric, Annelies, Ira, Pat, Eduardo, Franko: thank you for your kind comments. I had recently learned how to develop and print film and these were some early results from the personal side. I plan to put together others I did for work. Ken Wylie (#26) taught me how to use the darkroom. He said he never smiled for a portrait. Ira: it was very much time of the poets.

Hey walking man! this was such a treat. The nostalgia of that era, through your eyes. opening shot really set the mood. kinda like an 8mm movie. The shot of you, Self portrait? is just lovely. the whites like only silver halides can produce. Nice JL glasses, too. my favorite is 70 cent shakes. the composition, and tones. what a moment. SW Houston St, off kilter, with the checker cab. sweet.
