An incredible collection. Does Pete play guitar? I bet the story behind the photos is a good one.

Beautiful guitars both camera. Absolutely unnecessary and impractical things here. And very lovely.

Pete's a hippie cowboy! Lots of guitars and other stuff. Fun set.

The old photo of Pete makes me think of time slipping away, leaving some things untouched (guitars, souvenirs) and printing its signs in so many others.

Pete, Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, the Singing Cowboys, and Jerry Garcia! Hi Ho Silver!

Yep Linda, Pete plays guitar; he played out on the porch when my friend and I trapsed though his house. <G> ... I felt a little awkward with him not coming inside with us so I didn't get many shots before I went out on the porch to listen to his playing. ... I wish I did have more story to tell, I don't know too much more than the photos I'm showing, except for my over all impression. There was so much to see, and I could have spent another hour or two inside.
Ira, there were tons of impractical things, sentimental things, memories, things that just caught your fancy; all of it absolutely useless and impossible to throw away. :)

Edu, his whole place makes you think that way, his wife's garden deteriorating back into the earth, and a house full of things that have been collected over the years. The place is a testament to his life and character.

Annelies, I think they are displayed like that because they are precious. ... I asked him about the Garcia photo, and he said a friend gave it to him; he didn't say if his friend use to chill with Jerry though. I'll have to find that out the next time I visit. :)

Allan, I know, Garcia just doesn't seem to quite fit, but if you met Pete, you know why I had to include that shot. :)

And you got it Jude; Pete's a hippie cowboy! :)

A real treasure chest for a lifetime's collection of souvenirs. Edu hit the nail. There's something melancholy about seeing objects from another time trapped like this. It's a museum.

That's the best door knocker I have seen in a very long time.... great tabblo, photographed with warmth and sensitivity. Good choice of layout colours, too.

Great stuff! The Jerry GArcia is priceless, as are these photos, Dar. Pete has quite a collection of guitars. How did you meet him? Love the old camera.

Cool place - love the guitars.

Thank you all very much! :)

Mike, it certainly did feel like I was in a museum. A collection of memorabilia from Pete's life. To tell you the truth, I felt little awkward snooping around his house after only just meeting the guy, but there was so much more that I could have seen and photographed. Like I said, I have to go back. Even if I don't make another tabblo, it was just so interesting getting to know Pete from the stuff he's gathered around him over time.

John, I find it very interesting reading your comment after Mikes. It felt like both to me. There was something very sad about seeing someones past trapped forever (nice description Mike), but there was also a good feeling about how he had kept the good memories with him, and probably will have them till the day he dies, ... and yes, that somehow speaks of eternal youth to me, in some fashion.

Celia, yep, there certainly is more to find out about this guy; there was so much, it couldn't be all done in one afternoon. :)

You and me both Sandy! ... I was thinking that the cello belong to his wife, I'm not sure why, maybe it was the layer of dust on it that suggested that it hadn't been moved in quite awhile. ... Everything there holds meaning for Pete, and I really hope I can go back and get to know this fellow.

And yep, It's a doorknocker, very cool eh? :) Thanks Noreen. I think my sensitivity kept me from photographing all that I could though, but I'm pleased you noticed that in the photos that I did take.

Bobbie, I think so too; either that or his wife was. :)

Zip, I've always wanted one of those skulls. ... Don't have too many cattle dieing around these parts though. <G>

Mimi, I think Pete just has that way about him that his life will be happy forever and ever. I could see in his eyes how he's collected life's sadness as well, but when he smiles, his eyes light up as if it were the very first time. :)

Pam, a friend (Gyspy ... she just joined tabblo :) ) took me to his place because she had photographed the typewriter there, and we thought we could try to get a few more shots of the place. When we got there, Pete was sitting on his porch with a buddy, drinking beer and playing his guitar. He was very accommodating, told us to we could go around to the back and take photos of whatever we wanted. We spent about an hour or more back there, and when we returned to the front of the house, he offered the inside of his house for our enjoyment. :) Tell you the truth, I was a bit snapped out, and would have enjoyed just sitting on the porch with Pete and his buddy, but once I saw those guitars, and the Garcia photo, I just had to use what I had to make this tab. :)

Thanks Bertil; those guitars are the reason for this tab. :)

Thanks
