Klarizze

I met Klarizze two weeks ago when she enrolled in my Basic Digital Photography Class. She's a petite, young student of University of the Philippines, Manila, and currently, she's in her third year, taking up her undergraduate degree, majoring in Political Science.

She brought a small digital camera, non-DSLR; she was a really keen student--she was able to capture good pictures--some of them are posted in my previous tabblo. A few days later, she posted her pictures in Facebook, and I made a few comments.

During our session, I also noticed that she has a really charming face--very cute, actually. She seems to project this image of a very innocent and sweet girl. So, when I was looking for models for my Portraits 101, I thought that she would be a good model.

So I messaged her in Facebook, and asked her if she was available for the next weekend, and I told her that I want to make her a model for my Portraits 101 class. She actually "laughed" at the suggestion. She thought I took her for another person. :) I told her that it wasn't a mistake.

I told her not to worry because she will be modeling with another woman. Plus, being interested in photography herself, I told her that she could also learn photography while I teach the Portraits 101 students. So she agreed. :)

What I loved about working with her was that she was really very cooperative. The fact that our shooting session was done in a university made her appeal more appropriate. :) I was very satisfied with her open-mindedness, considering that it was her first time to do this kind of activity.

I am sure she enjoyed posing for you as much as you did photographing her. #4 and #10 are my favorites, but I can't really tell you why.

Terrific shots, James. I'm also drawn to #4. Something wistful about Klarizze's expression, and it's heightened by the sepia tones.

Gentle in an almost dreamy and thoughtful way. Very effective use of the light especially in the first three shots. I like this far away look in the first picture and the relaxed features in the 4th pic, which give her the appearance of waying some thought or idea. Congrats for this exelent work of both you and Klarisse.
