Pocket Circus

A mystical curtain hung before a huge crowd at the Round Lake Library on Sunday, as people munched on their popcorn and imagined what a Pocket Circus was.

Gabriela peeked around the side, and then the magic began!

Spinning plates

While doing acrobatics!

The magic was contagious!

Even a young man in the audience was spinning a plate on his finger

Juan spun plates on a stick with just the tip of his finger

And then his chin!

That's a real ceramic plate, too. People tapped it with a metal stick so we could hear the clink-clink-clink.

Some acrobatics included a flag show

Gabriela and Juan doing acrobatics together

Wow!

Taking a bow for the roaring applause

Woohoo! The hilarious show was amusing to all ages.

Gabriela exhibited her prowess with the diablo

Hat tricks!

Juan sports a helmet with a basketball hoop to challenge audience members

This young man missed and hit Juan in the arm

But he rubbed it to make him feel better

This woman missed, so she was given plastic glasses and another try, but she missed again -- note the ball flying over Juan's right arm

Finally, on the third pair of glasses, and by far the biggest, she was able to get the ball through the hoop!

Balloon animals for all the brave participants

Ring tricks

We saw Gabriela make dogs, a parrot and a swan out of balloons as souvenirs for the folks who participated

Juan had to consult his book about something

AHHHHH!

The show just got better and better, and funnier and funnier

Gabriela and Juan juggling

This poor man opened his eyes to find himself in the middle of six pins flying in front of him and behind him

He later said he could feel the air moving in front of his face

Yay, he survived!

A show for everyone

Making friends
