Me preguntaba si sería Río... dolorosa y profundamente hermosa.

BW adds a “lonely” mood to it (to my taste at least). Sorta very cool combination, EDUARDO :)

The disorder has charm, which is not characteristic to the order and external shine.

Plato hit the nail on the head: true then, true today. Your photos show the order in the disorder. And the reverse...

I find B/W photography a special treat, especially when it is so artful as this. No. 3 with the missing roofs is a perfect one in my eyes, because of the geometrical order of the motive and the ballanced contrast between the shades of grey.

Strong work !

This is a really good composition in black and white. It seems to accentuate the decay that I somehow think colour pictures would distract from.

"Alguma coisa está fora da ordem"...??? Caetano dixit.

Sad to see such urban neglect, when so many are homeless. Stark B & W pics that allow no softening or distraction from the scenes. "As Mayan splendour came and went, our temples will decay and die. As dinosaurs, we'll have our day, to air our loins then pass away."

ANDRE, CHARLES, CELIA & ANKE: I didn't like these photos in color, and stored them in a file of "rejects". Then, yesterday, I desatured some of them and... here they are, much stronger than before.

IRA & ALLAN: There is order in disorder, it's just not so obvious to our eyes.

MIKE: I really liked these verses. Who is the author? I googled it and there's no reference. You know, if it isn't on Google it doesn't exist...

i think the b/w adds more drama and a sense of timelessness :) and it brings out all the contrasts of light ,dark and decay esp on the roofs :)

Sometimes I do the same with my not good coloured photos, and it works very well. The quotations : Plato was right, of course; our countries are what We are, or the majority of us is, unfortunately! especially when there is some form of democracy. Ciao. P.s. You always make me think, and this is no good.................Ciao, again, dear friend

Nice moody B&W shots Eduardo!

Well, there is the statue of hope on the hill...resurrection beyond decay? When I die...my garden will probably fade with me but then there is always the chance that someone will want it to keep blooming eh? (I love the B&W)

nice conceptual tabblo, edu. I tried to go beyond the concept, so i can really appreciate your photos. My fave is #5. it is truly shocking to know the what lies beyond the gorgeous places one associates with Rio. The dichotomy is not lost on me.
