Leftofcenter said at 1:45 a.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Keener is still in a NY frame of mind which is great for us.. I see a thug... the Dakota :( the "artist's gate" :) and my fave of course Warhol himself! I feel like I'm in an episode of Law&Order!
Pkeener said at 1:51 a.m. on Apr 6, 2009: good morning, Leftie! and waht a great compliment! Do you see where the thug is standing? yeah, i can just hear the theme song..and Jerry orbach cracking wise. FArid, I tried to take pics of the taxi's as much as possible. I think they are the essence of my whole series on NYC. hey Pop. It's another urban wonderland. So different from Tokyo, yet not... Thank you Andre...meet you at the Plaza for a white Bomber. Linda, we rode bikes through the park, so I didn't get many photos. We were on a time crunch and I wanted to see Strawberry Fields. and the Met. Almost impossible to do in 5 hours.
Leftofcenter said at 1:54 a.m. on Apr 6, 2009: time zone connection!! wot time in Colorado??? 7:53am here.

Ira said at 12:25 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Dear Pam! This delightful city as open doors in the surprising world. Such different and interesting. The world of freedom. Cool shots!
Eduardo.affonso said at 12:30 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: I tried to photograph Dakota for you when I was in NY, but spent more time than I expected wandering in the Central Park & National Gallery and simply missed it. I like your "stylish" pose in front of the International Center of Photography.
Lifequest22 said at 12:34 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: I knew this had a TOD quality. So, back to Sunday in New York and particularly the "Artists' Gate." I'm going to have to Google that one. Can tell it's Sunday due to the lack of any"Suits." And no better place for you to pose in front of than the "Photo Center." Hey--I want one of those "I love NY" T-shirts. Dear "Prudence"?? I remember walking the streets in summer and my friend and I would stop at one of the street fountains and give our hot feet a cool down.
Pkeener said at 12:35 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Hey! wow. TOD. well, thank you! I enjoy making these NYC tabblos almost as much as I enjoyed being there. This was my last day in the city and we pretty much decided to make our way to the Park. The journey was more than the destination, as it often happens. We had no time to give Central Park, or the Metropolitan Museum of Art their due justice. I guess I will just have to go back. The first shot is the view directly opposite the apartment we were staying in Chelsea, and I got such a kick out of seeing it. Sp foreign to my Denver eyes.
Pkeener said at 12:47 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: EDU! I have a few more of the Dakota, but it's hard to get it all in my lens without distortion. The International Center of Photography was so cool! The photographs, the store, the education. They had a Walker Evans exhibit, but we were pressed for time.
Thank you Linda. I didn't even think of TOD when I made this one! Ira, Saul, PAt, thank you! Chris And Bill, Cool is and always has been a high compliment to me! Thank you Oscar and Bob, it's my wilderness! As nature is yours. Ake, yes! I can't wait to go back Marion, and Ceilia, you would both go crazy there with your cameras. Mike, I actually thought of you with that sign! ANgela, the lack of direct sun gave the city as nice illumination. Karen took that shot of me, and I just had to post it, for all you photographers to see the sign
Bravemoonbearer said at 12:53 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Congrats on TOD.I find the reflections interesting, Central Park, the fountain and photo #12 would make a terrific TGIF.I just love your sight seeing tours.
Flinkfar said at 1:00 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Another NY treat. This makes me want to go there - looks like a very vibrant place. Congrats on the TOD, that's well deserved.
Welshchick said at 1:11 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Bravo for you! Exciting city and your colorful tabblo shows the diversities and artistic vibrancy going on there! I love the dulcimer and guitar duo...I can just hear the music sifting through the downtown neighborhood with horns honking and people talking...CONGRATULATIONS PAM!
AdSR said at 1:32 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: My faves: "Electrolux", "Rusty Tubes Fountain", and "Purple to the Left, Purple to the Right" :)
Pkeener said at 2:14 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: arthur, had I use titles for these pics, I was going to name that shot ELECTROLUX! and we do think alike, as The last shot i noticed the purple on both sides. The Rusy Tubes scupture is found outside the ICP Rhonda, I didnt hear them play, as he was having trouble setting up. But the guy in the ALDO shot was playing his guitar for tips, out of focus so it's hard to see..
Rita.Mandarino said at 2:14 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Fabulous tabblo. Congrats on TOD. I dont know NY, only by photos and by your beautiful tabblos.

Sraines902 said at 8:46 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: Wow. Such a diverse variety of things to see. Keep putting these up and I'll find a reason to get to NY one of these days.
The reflection of an older tall building on the glass face of another is particularly appealing for me for reasons I don't really fathom.
In any case, thanks for sharing.
Snooway said at 8:50 p.m. on Apr 6, 2009: congrats on ToD, I like the one of central park's fountain and I want to visit the international photography center! Also like the sketch artist's drawing of the woman with glasses;)

Karsten said at 12:27 a.m. on Apr 7, 2009: Pam - You had some NY shots left!!! :-))) And a ToD!! Congrats! Surely well earned! I strolled up and down like 5 times and still couldn´d find a fav... they are just great and with this grey and withe lay out they just came out marvelous!!! although i´ve never been there i guess i´ll be always in a new york state of mind!
Pkeener said at 9:39 a.m. on Apr 7, 2009: Karsten, I still have a few more shots. Being in a New York state of mind is something i can really understand. I just love seeing the same street scenes I photographed on TV and in movies. Thank you for your great comment. M! such an honor. Queen? you know it's what i love to do. I love #3, too, I almost didn't get it in time, because I was trying to respect their privacy, but she smiled, so I snapped. the ICP shot was for all you guys on Tabblo! Thank you Deb. That reflection is actually the Chrysler Building reflected in the Hyatt Regency, which is a couple blocks from Grand Central Station. I couldn't believe my eyes. Bobbi..Doo wah Doo Wah cool cool kitty?? Thank you Laura! You rock Arkansas! Thank you Zippy, I was pleasantly surprised by the TOD! Teo, it is the Photographers dream. all that stuff in a small jam packed area! Stan, I am sure there is a reason for you and your band to git to NYC! It's hard to fathom the enormity, and then to see those rreflections is surreal. Sue, that sketch unfolding was so cool. I wish I would have gone back to see it finished Allan, I was going to the Dakota (of course) and when I saw that van in my lens, I was so intrigued. Blame it on Stephen King! Thank you for the nice compliment, and you are welcome to walk with me anytime. Densie, <3. Big Yellow Taxis are to me, the primary resisnt of the city. Rita, you are welcome to explore! Edite and Oscar, thank you, and I love seeing your parts of the world, too, and that is the beauty of Tabblo. Thank you again, Tabblo dudes and dudettes. for making it all possible to share and enjoy photographs.

Ned said at 7:01 a.m. on Apr 8, 2009: Pam, thanks again for NYC shots. You happened to capture one of my favorite places growing up in NYC, being the nerd that I am. The shot of the cop in front of the triangular sculpture. That's at 56th street, the McGraw-Hill building, and in the basement was the McGraw-Hill bookstore, a fabulous resource for techies back in the day when taking the subway to a bookstore was the best way to find information on arcane topics like computers.
The triangle, BTW, is a sundial-ish thing. The three sides point to the sun's altitude at the equinoxes and the solstices.
Pkeener said at 9:45 a.m. on Apr 8, 2009: HEy, Ned! Thank you so much. I was struck by the juxtaposition of the lone beat cop in front of that sculpture, the overcast light being so perfect. I almost asked her about it, but she seemed so stern! And that's why I didn't get a better shot, she saw me, and frowned at the thought of me taking a pic of her. I wanted to pop into the bookstore, too! but we were so pressed for time. I am glad you are enjoying this series. I envy your proximity to the city, and I am embracing my buried nerdiness...being a photographer in the digital age has revealed some interesting and unkown qualities of my personality!
Thank you Lars, and Michelle, I am so glad you are enjoying this series of the city of all cities...well, I haven't seen London, Rome, or Paris, and I was a baby in Tokyo...so NYC is it for me.
Chaitiamma said at 11:17 a.m. on Apr 8, 2009: So many things to do on a Sunday in New York. Very good captures !!!

I see you too. :) , and yellow taxi's being towed, and I'm wondering if that fellow that needs a beer and love and peace gave city tours, or is part of one? Great Tab Pam!
