I always loved New York on Sundays. Especially Central Park. I'll be back later to enjoy this Sunday tab more throughly.

lovely sights.. love the photos of the taxis and one i nearly missed was the one of the taxis doing a wheelie in the background he he while the other one was being towed i think... cool stuff

Keener is still in a NY frame of mind which is great for us.. I see a thug... the Dakota :( the "artist's gate" :) and my fave of course Warhol himself! I feel like I'm in an episode of Law&Order!

FArid, I tried to take pics of the taxi's as much as possible. I think they are the essence of my whole series on NYC.

Linda, we rode bikes through the park, so I didn't get many photos. We were on a time crunch and I wanted to see Strawberry Fields. and the Met. Almost impossible to do in 5 hours.

Pam, this is a wonderful tabblo. The art in the park is great. I love the picture of you but my favourite has to be the man on the bench, this picture seems to say so much!

I tried to photograph Dakota for you when I was in NY, but spent more time than I expected wandering in the Central Park & National Gallery and simply missed it. I like your "stylish" pose in front of the International Center of Photography.

I knew this had a TOD quality. So, back to Sunday in New York and particularly the "Artists' Gate." I'm going to have to Google that one. Can tell it's Sunday due to the lack of any"Suits." And no better place for you to pose in front of than the "Photo Center." Hey--I want one of those "I love NY" T-shirts. Dear "Prudence"?? I remember walking the streets in summer and my friend and I would stop at one of the street fountains and give our hot feet a cool down.

Hey! wow. TOD. well, thank you! I enjoy making these NYC tabblos almost as much as I enjoyed being there.
This was my last day in the city and we pretty much decided to make our way to the Park. The journey was more than the destination, as it often happens. We had no time to give Central Park, or the Metropolitan Museum of Art their due justice. I guess I will just have to go back.
The first shot is the view directly opposite the apartment we were staying in Chelsea, and I got such a kick out of seeing it. Sp foreign to my Denver eyes.

EDU! I have a few more of the Dakota, but it's hard to get it all in my lens without distortion.
The International Center of Photography was so cool! The photographs, the store, the education. They had a Walker Evans exhibit, but we were pressed for time.

arthur, had I use titles for these pics, I was going to name that shot ELECTROLUX! and we do think alike, as The last shot i noticed the purple on both sides. The Rusy Tubes scupture is found outside the ICP
Rhonda, I didnt hear them play, as he was having trouble setting up. But the guy in the ALDO shot was playing his guitar for tips, out of focus so it's hard to see..

Wow. Such a diverse variety of things to see. Keep putting these up and I'll find a reason to get to NY one of these days.

The reflection of an older tall building on the glass face of another is particularly appealing for me for reasons I don't really fathom.

In any case, thanks for sharing.

M! such an honor. Queen? you know it's what i love to do. I love #3, too, I almost didn't get it in time, because I was trying to respect their privacy, but she smiled, so I snapped. the ICP shot was for all you guys on Tabblo!
Thank you Deb. That reflection is actually the Chrysler Building reflected in the Hyatt Regency, which is a couple blocks from Grand Central Station. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Pam, thanks again for NYC shots. You happened to capture one of my favorite places growing up in NYC, being the nerd that I am. The shot of the cop in front of the triangular sculpture. That's at 56th street, the McGraw-Hill building, and in the basement was the McGraw-Hill bookstore, a fabulous resource for techies back in the day when taking the subway to a bookstore was the best way to find information on arcane topics like computers.

The triangle, BTW, is a sundial-ish thing. The three sides point to the sun's altitude at the equinoxes and the solstices.

HEy, Ned! Thank you so much. I was struck by the juxtaposition of the lone beat cop in front of that sculpture, the overcast light being so perfect. I almost asked her about it, but she seemed so stern! And that's why I didn't get a better shot, she saw me, and frowned at the thought of me taking a pic of her. I wanted to pop into the bookstore, too! but we were so pressed for time. I am glad you are enjoying this series. I envy your proximity to the city, and I am embracing my buried nerdiness...being a photographer in the digital age has revealed some interesting and unkown qualities of my personality!

Thank you Lars, and Michelle, I am so glad you are enjoying this series of the city of all cities...well, I haven't seen London, Rome, or Paris, and I was a baby in Tokyo...so NYC is it for me.

This feels very Sunday like, peaceful and laid back, not at all what one images New York to be. ... I see Idaho potatoes, ... I see you too. :) , and yellow taxi's being towed, and I'm wondering if that fellow that needs a beer and love and peace gave city tours, or is part of one? Great Tab Pam!
