"MUZIMA" a lost glory.

Tilburg, my hometown, has the musical instrument makers factory off the family Kessels from 1896 to 1956 been in the city.

Tilburg was originally a textile town and the musical instrument makers factory was the 2nd largest employer in the city and the largest musical instrument makers factory in Europe. The factory was demolished in 1956, but the collection of musical instruments, objects, photographs and video documentation were gathered in the Musical Instruments Museum Muzima.

wonderful impressions,
it shows, it`s not only an art to play a music instrument
but also to design and create such wonderful instruments, thanks!

Gerard, wonderful photoraphs and Tabblo. I love seeing the horns in various states of being made. The tools and the work spaces. Your use of light and the angles are just remarkable. Perfect black background. My favorite shot is #4 of the old horns hung on the rack. I would love to visit this museum! I also love Miles Davis, and the link was a welcome treat. Bravo!

Wow, TOD i love it, I think this is great and exciting, this tastes like more. I'm a little bit late with my respons, here in Holland we have our 2de easterday, So I visited my parents and then i'm enjoy the rays of springsun on a terrace, delicious.
Thank you Andreas, Pam, Charles, Ira, Debra, Robya, Annelies, Pat, Sandy, Noe, James, David, Celia, Rhonda and Den. for your visit and great compliments, it made me blush.
Making these pictures was a great experience, I found a museum in which it seemed as if the time almost 50 years has stood still. And to think that it is only about 2 years leaving this factory is using. This hall was formerly a part of a foundry, It had only a few windows but that made the light in this building so special.
