Dear Tabblo community,
The past two months have been a period of transition for me. In the middle of February I took an extended leave from work and moved to Manila to do some serious studying. I needed to pass a series of qualifying exams in order to begin my practice and to become a member of the local society of pediatricians. I told everyone back home that I was putting my life "on hold" until the day after my exams. It was a self-imposed limit on all the things I consider fun.
About two weeks into my review, in an effort to stay sane while still avoiding alcohol, going to the movies, and a rather addicting (bomber) man on a portable game console, I signed up for a lesson in photography. The first lesson led to three other lessons spread out over a month (where I met some wonderful people who I now call my friends), a definite and noticeable difference in how I take pictures, and my introduction to this wonderful thing called Tabblo. I am more pleased with the pictures I take now, and sharing them has never been as delightful as it is with the Tabblo community.

I have gained much inspiration from scanning your tabblos (most times up to the wee hours of the morning!) And your warm welcome has encouraged me to continue practicing, improving, and sharing my photos. Thank you so much :)
And just in case you guys were wondering...
My exams had favorable results, and I have gone home to start a small practice -- some days I feel like it's still in its inactive pupal stage, but I remain hopeful that this will eventually change and take flight somehow.
Every now and then, I'd meet some friends back home and they'd ask me if my life is still "on hold." And I tell them that my life was never on hold... it was happening all along :)
Yours sincerely,
Myles Castro. |
