Cambodia's Tonle Sap, is one of the unique geographical wonders of the world. The amazing lake is the largest in S.E. Asia, fills with the waters of the Mekong in May when the Mekon Delta is unable to absorb all the river water. The river reverses its normal seaward flow and backs up the Tonle Sap River bringing flooding into the lake, swelling  the lake from 160km. to 250 km and over 100km. wide. There are approx. 1.4 million people living in and around the lake and river banks. The great lake yields many tons of fish and provide sustenance to the people there. There are 300 species of fresh water fish and the wetlands provide homes to the hundreds of thousands migratory birds.

Thank you Charles, Mike and Oscar for your lovely comments. Mike there are alot of wildlife here and infact we went up to a souvenir house and a restaurant for hot drinks as we were caught in a storm while touring the floating villages there. Only thing we did not shoot any baskets there though quite tempting as I have never played basketball in a floating court. I pity the pigs as they were pent up like this

Thank you Reta,Daniel,Connie,David,Celia,Doreen,Pat,Andre,Ira,Noe,and Rhonda appreciate all the superb comments. The crocodiles were reared on a floating platform, as were the pigs and everything seems to be done in boats, boathouse or floating platforms. I saw platforms that were dedicated to planting vegetables and flowering plants.

The shot from plane is great! Thank you for the information. Why do people "wear" plastic? (in coffee break)
Hhwind said at 5:45 a.m. on Apr 26, 2009:
We were actually wearing a cheap plastic raincoat, its a wear and toss away type which cost 20 cents because we were caught in a heavy storm and we decided to take shelter in a floating cafe for a coffee break
