Sikhs believe in one God that has many names, which can be learn through meditation. Like the Hindus, they believe in karma and reincarnation, but reject the caste system. |

BUDDHISM |
|
Buddhism was developed from the enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama. After 49 days of meditation, he is believed to have reached enlightenment, after which he was called "Buddha", the Enlightened One. |


|
Siddhartha Gautama believed that multiple lives were not required to reach Nirvana. Instead, he believed with the right actions, following the 8 fold path, this could be achieved. |

CHRISTIANITY |
|
Jesus was bothered by some of the Jewish practices, and made a new branch of Judaism. He is believed to have saved the people from their sins and that he is the Son of God |

Many of the Christian belief is similar to that of Jewish belief. Christians believe in a heaven, and that those who repent their sins can join God in heaven. Also, it is generally believed that the counterpart of heaven is hell, where people suffer for their acts during their lives |

HINDUISM |
|
Hinduism is the result of years of accumulation of beliefs, and so there is no clear leader. The ultimate goal in this religion is to unite with Brahman (a unity of everything, including the universe and the gods) through enlightenment. |


|
Hindus follow a strict caste system, in which members of each cast have restrictions. It is believed that previous life determines one's future caste; through good or bad karma, one can go up and down the hierarchy. It is believed that one reincarnates until the person achieves the highest of the caste system. |


|
ISLAM |

The founder of Sikhism was Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the Punjab area. He began preaching after his enlightenment, and later Gurus (which are considered reincarnations of him) led the movement. The holy text, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib was compiled by the tenth Guru, and the text is considered the 11th Guru. |
