Juxtaposition - 'Full Metal' ART
 
'NINE SQUARE CRACKLE METAL ART'

THIS IS NOT MY PAINTING BUT I HAVE USED CRACKLE MEDIUM WITH ACRYLIC ON CANVAS...

THIS, TO ME, REALLY IS A GOOD DEFINITION OF THE WORD 'JUXTAPOSITION' ~pmc

 

 

 

DEFINITION:  "A placing or being placed in nearness or contiguity, or side by side, often done in order to compare/contrast two (or more), to show similarities or differences."

I have used crackle medium on ceramics and it makes it look old, but very nice. Hadn't seen it before on canvas, very nice.

THANKS Primoz Ema Mike and Doreen....yes this is beyond photography, It's photography of an art piece recently acquired and Doreen some of my paintings such as 'Still Waters' WERE crackle medium on canvas but this artist used the medium on metal...it has the effect you wanted 'looking old' but also allows the previous base color or colors to come 'through' the colors painted on top....'crackle through other colors' this artists did a magnificent job and my photos do not really do it justice - almost needs a 'standalone' layout (I HAD wanted to 'encircle' it with each ofthe 9 squares and SURE DID A LOT OF CROPPING before this tabblo .LOL and thx Patty xo

Hi patty nice to see you making tabblo kinda weird for me as i have never heard of crackle medium mabe you can explain for me in more detail is like a clear varnish,
perhaps as you say a " standalone photo might show this better for those of us who do not know what the medium is, there is beauty in all things when you look through the lens of a camera.

Hey Pat this IS NOT my artwork- i 'may' have many talents but this 'ain't one of them!' LOL...it was purchased on the weekend...Joe 'crackle medium' isjust a type of clear substance that you put on over your base color painted on whole canvas and/or various colors if you wish 'here and there' ...it's put on right after base is painted before dried...then u let 'crackle' dry ...THEN paint any and all other colors on top. the 'Still Waters' fishing boat I did , I used it to allow many lighter (pale peach etc.) colors to come thru the blue/green water..I WAS VERY PLEASED with result - I think that is one of my tabblos in my group" From Photographs to Paintings to Photographs' and was done circa 2000 or 1999 ?!|? thx AGAIN all xo

Yes Connie and Holly I WAS GOING TO DO A STANDALONE with it hanging on the wall in the best light and settubg (not this one obviously lol) and GOT 'CARD ERROR'....ewwwhh 3 times. So, out for a new one...VERY soon. TY Teo and Reta for your kind comments too! (Maybe I'll paint one day again soon,,,,,if the 'arthritic hand gods' allow lol haha) pmc out
