Liliana said at 7:04 p.m. on May 15, 2009: O que é isso...??¿Vendedores ambulantes, "crianças", en Japón?¿De verdad trabajaban?
Charlespop said at 7:29 p.m. on May 15, 2009: Eduardo, great portraits ! BTW, these kids have rather unusual nametags on their heads......they tell you both their first names and their ages..... I have never seen this kind of name tag before here in Japan .
Moabjeeper said at 7:39 p.m. on May 15, 2009: Cuties.
Liliana said at 7:42 p.m. on May 15, 2009: Con el comentario de Charles entiendo aun menos...

Liliana said at 10:22 p.m. on May 15, 2009: I think the photos are great (I am translating what I have written in Portuguese) but I real feel very surprised because the children are working... Of course I can see it in my coutry, too, but it is very very sad and injustice. So, I am surprised nobody write about it. Here is not legal the fact the children work. Is it in your countries...? Sorry if I´m saying a sad thought , I think art (photography, music, literature...) moves a lot of feelings.

CHARLES: I was going to ask you to tell us what's written on those labels. I found these lovely girls selling cooked potatoes (delicous, by the way) in Kamakura, near the Great Buddah.
ROBERT, ANDRE, IRA, NEUSINHA, MIKE & TEO: They are really lovely, aren't they? Specially the youngest one...
Charlespop said at 9:52 a.m. on May 16, 2009: Lilliana, I am sure that this was some kind of annual event.... a pre-school, kindergarten or temple festival....in other words the kids were probably working for 2 or 3 hours...on one day during the whole year....Japan has many problems ,but fortunately child labor no longer exists here. However, I am sure some Japanese companys are employing children indirectly (via suppliers ) overseas .
Liliana said at 11:18 a.m. on May 16, 2009: Charles, thanks for your explanation. I can understand it perfectly, it isn a "work", it is part of an event, a festival, a party. I was very surprised because I couldn´t imagine children working in Japan. Really, thanks again.
Si no, preguntale a Lula...
