I know, Limda. It was such perfect timing to be able to see him walk at the party. You have a big year coming up, too, for sweet Pea. I have to say, it was the hardest thing to be the photographer for this event. I really wasn't on my game, because I was too busy being Grandma!

May 9 was a good day for birthdays. My cousin and his wife have a little boy named Quinn and I was attending his first birthday party on that day. Carter looks like he was really enjoying that cake. I LOVE the closeup shot of him with frosting all over his face. And he's walking now? That's awesome! Thanks for sharing this happy occasion with us, Pam. :-)

oh man, I have to put my feet up for 5 minutes after THIS party!!! who cleaned up??? I love the #2 (before the mess!) w/ the frame of the proud mommy & son. His hair!! he looks like a little Beatle (as in "she loves you yeah yeah yeah") I love all the closups of the lil' dude, he has that "je-ne-sais-quoi", a sweet charmer, watch-out mom, dad, grandmas!!! you're numero uno, Carter!

Proud Grandma here, indeed!

Carter, Amy and Mark flew out here to celebrate Carter's first Birthday, which is actually May 8, Wendy. They all live in Virginia, and most of the family live in Colorado, and Texas. All the grandparents came to Carter's grandpa Bill's house for the party. I had a hard time choosing shots, as stated above, because of the gorgeous house and all the people who came, all the presents he received, etc. I knew the most important part was Carter's reaction to his day. So, thankyou for indulging the cake scenes.

It is so sweet of all of you to follow my Grandma Roll, and yes, it will continue!
I love all your comments, and overnight, they grew like a garden gone wild! So I am not sure I can addres each one, individually, but Carter and I do thank you!

When Amy And MArk and Carter flew home, they checked their bags at the airport, took a DIRECT flight, and guess what? The suitcase they borrowed to pack all of his presents and clothes is still missing. A week later. No sign of it. Pretty heartbreaking for Amy and Mark. Not just the gifts, but sentimental items, cards, etc. I had wrpapped AMy's Fisher Price Phone, from her first birthday, and gave it to Carter as an extra treat. He loved it, naturally...

Hopefully the airlines wil find it, but if not, Carter won't know the difference, and he is already on to the quest of the second year! as Den said. What really matters is all the love and friendship we garner, not the material things..right? If he were a few years older, that might not have been as easy to swallow as all the yummy cake!
