Volvo Around-the-World Sailing Race Dance and Exhibition, Boston (Part 1)

I thoroughly enjoyed an evening walk from the apartment over to Fan Pier on the Boston Waterfront, and of course couldn't resist a few more shots of Boston at night. Volvo, the sponsor of the around-the-world sailing race, had set up their headquarters and displays to show off their products (including a Volvo made out of Legos). They also offered nightly entertainment, and as you may be able to tell from the pics at the end, the crowds did not resist the urge to dance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh - they served food there as well.

Kurt, I was there but in the day time (one of my tabblos). Couldn't stay for the night time festivities had my grandson with me. I like the night time shots and the dancing, showing people enjoying the moment.

Nice shots. You should add them to the Night Photography group. I wanted to go down to see Buffalo Tom (the rock band you pictured above), but didn't find out in time.

Thank you, all, for your comments. It was a challenge holding my breath for as long as I needed to for some of those shots! Question - how does one search for different groups to join? I've only been able to find groups through other people's Tabblos that are posted within those groups. Is there another way to locate others such as the Night Photography group?

PhotoPop - Just checked out your Volvo Tabblo - fun to see the same event from different perspectives, isn't it? It turns out we were there the same day - as seen in my Mother's Day Tabblo! Sometime soon I hope we run into each other at one of these events - were you at Earth Day at the Hatchshell? I'll have a Tabblo up of that at some point.
