You go girl! I thought you were watching Ocean12?? I have a couple of faves here "Little alters everywhere", the bllurry -how ironic- "read more", the wasabi "red beans & rice" and "Jetsam", I don't know what "jetsam" means but there's something heartbreaking about that photo...

You tell a great story Pam!!!
Chilla said at 3:47 p.m. on May 29, 2009:
Pam, somehow you present a set of pictures that provoke a number of emotions. My main feeling rightly or wrongly, is a sense of emptiness. How much of New Orleans has survived its catastrophic floods? An excellent Tabblo Pam.
LurleenMcQueen said at 3:58 p.m. on May 29, 2009:
Great job of capturing the spirit of the city. Can't wait until we have time to sit down over coffee and let me hear the whole story of your weekend. I'll have to share some of my "back in the day" New Orleans stories with you...

This set of photos represents the flip side to my Shiny Quarter set. Not so bright and picture perfect. Which of course fascinates me and triggers my over active imagination.

Ceilia, you picked right up on the overall feeling of emptiness and loss that is apparant everywhere you look.
Den, that is our dear friend Bugs!
Karsten, thank you! time for a snickers?
Leftie! you bet it's a TGIF! WOT??? Check yer Funk n Wagnalls! Flotsam and Jetsam is everywhere in NO
Lurleen, I am guessing that your first name is PAt, and if not, wot?
Mikey, it's almost as scary as our other assignments!
Patty, I am sure I channeled a wee bit of HST on this one ;)
Andre, that is my new Fave DYLAN quote...

Abking said at 11:04 p.m. on May 29, 2009:
This was like paging through a book of poetry I didn't want to end. Every photo had something to say to the others, so I'm not picking a fave. It's all fave!
Mariusblack said at 12:12 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
this is indeed the flip side of your shiny quarter set. it's the more serious one, i guess. with messages all over the tabb. i definitely dig the captions, adding depth and meaning to the shots, your POV. red beans and rice is an absolutely fantastic abstraction. and another amen to "read more". =)
Noe said at 12:19 a.m. on May 30, 2009:

AliDar said at 1:52 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
I can't tell you how many times I went, 'huh' while viewing this. The captions were like having been given a glimpse into how your mind works when you are out shooting. I love your quirky sense of humour with the captions too.... Huh. :)
AliDar said at 1:54 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
...Juxaposable, very clever. :)
HtD said at 1:57 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
Pamela the inhabitants from New Orleans, are still forgotten by the Amarican government. What is the mayor from New Orleans doing for his own occupants??
but a wonderful tabblo.
Flinkfar said at 4:51 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
Oh Pam - this is so clever. " Drive by confessional" - - - - you just see things a bit odd:-) Me likey lotsa.....
Pkeener said at 11:59 a.m. on May 30, 2009:
Henke, so glad you pointed that out re Nagin. Here is a quote: "You know what? The more I look at that stuff and read it, the more confused I get," ... "And I'm one of the main players in this"

It's a sad state of affairs, but the politics/politicians have not changed much over the past century. Graft, Corruption, Greed...It's all NOT good.

Bertil, that shot was a Gift from the photo Gods.
Dar I rarely title my photos as I take them. I usually do it in editing, or as I make the tabblo, they kinda come together. and so cool that you got Juxtaposable. ;))
Hey Stan! You da kewlest.
Marius, you and your posse would LOVE NO
Allan, a trip through NO is not unlike a trip through the badlands, without a compass
Franko, True Dat!
Lars, thank you.

Thanks, Sandy. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I get it wrong, But, if that's all that's Left, It's All Good! ;)
Umauma said at 1:05 p.m. on May 30, 2009:
Brilliant Pam!!!! A perfect piece of journalistic photography..your captions added so much! really enjoyed this..Lets see after the developers get their grubby hands in..They'll turn the place into a theme park for sure..we'll have your photographs to look at, because they'll raze the whole place for sure...Take us more place girl!!! You're so much fun to travel with!
Chaitiamma said at 1:12 p.m. on May 30, 2009:
So well done Pam !!!
AliDar said at 1:41 p.m. on May 30, 2009:
Oh I'm sure that you don't add titles to your work while you're shooting. I imagine, like so many, you often shoot first and think about it later. The thing is though, what you see in the first place has everything to do with how your mind works, whether or not you are conscious of it at the time. Your added captions give an insight into your creative process, and I for one found it very enjoyable. ... Like Allan said, it was like flipping through a book of poetry, and I'll add to that, full of meaningful and abstract thoughts, that I didn't want to put down. :)
Moabjeeper said at 8:03 p.m. on May 30, 2009:

Pkeener said at 12:01 p.m. on Jun 3, 2009:
Hey Woody! getting lost is the only way to get FOUND! I totally agree. Asking for directions is fodder for a screenplay, though!

Berryklod said at 4:10 p.m. on Jun 11, 2009:
Claude
