The Garden Coffee (Ardisia) Café de Jardim

Origin: Originating in Japan

 

Description: Plant shrubs, small size, a thin, straight stem, where the branches are starting in the middle portion. The leaves are simple, narrow edges of corrugated, acuminate, dark-green glossy consistency coriácea.

 

The flowers are white and small, gathered in a terminal inflorescence.

 

The fruits are small red berries and overpneumatised inedible.

 

Produces flowers and fruits on a continuous basis, more abundant in summer, when we have flowers and fruit together, a beautiful composition for the garden.

Descrição: Planta arbustiva de pequeno porte, um caule fino e reto, onde os ramos se iniciam na porção média. As folhas são simples, estreitas de bordas onduladas, acuminadas, verde-escuras brilhantes de consistência coriácea.

 

As flores são brancas, bem pequenas, reunidas numa inflorescência terminal.

 

Os frutos são pequenas bagas vermelhas e globosas não comestíveis.

 

Produz flores e frutos contínuos, maior abundância no verão, quando temos flores e frutos juntos, numa bela composição para o jardim.

Have you taste the coffee from this Japanese roasted berry's, Neusinha? The berry's look more red than for example the Brasilian coffeeberry's.

Enaldo, o Café de Jardim não requer manutenção e também não é exigente em fertilidade. Como tem pouca quantidade de raízes, não muito profundas, adapta-se a cultivo em canteiros rasos, jardineiras e vasos, no RS, SP e outos tantos lugares. Pássaros não comem as frutinhas por não serem comestíveis. Um abraço.
