Plant Pals ventured into the courtyard of the Round Lake Library this morning to clean up, plant, and refuel the many gardens that make our courtyard beautiful. |

Mrs. Deb taught everyone about the plants being used today |

Bird feeders and chimes attract children as well as birds |

Many came prepared with their own gloves and tools |

Parents helped to carefully remove the plants so as not to damage the roots |

Even the cedar waxwings weren't deterred from breakfast in the treetops as many people worked in the garden below |

We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather |

A large pile of weeds that everyone contributed to |

Mrs. Deb shows everyone how to remove a plant from the container and offers up bug spray for protection from the biters |

Not the wildlife this courtyard is used to |

Once plants were in the ground, they needed to be watered |

We dig plants |

Plants to take home for everyone! |

Even future presidents like to get dirty |

This father must have a green thumb, which he passed on to his kids |

Those are some big gloves to fill |

Teamwork helps with heavy watering cans |

After weeding, planting and watering the plants, then filling the bird feeders and bird baths, everyone got to take home a plant of their own and a packet of plant seeds. |

Thank you to Plant Pals for helping make our library even more beautiful, and thank you to Mrs. Deb for the gorgeous courtyard we all enjoy! |
