3D Mallard Duck

Debbie's tabblo: "Avatars-many me's" made my day yesterday. She was playing with her computer, because it was too HOT to be outside!

Well guess what? Last week it was too COLD to be outside here (some summer, huh!) so I was playing too. With photos of myself? Oh no, not me :D My son had a football game and I took my camera with me and went to the beach nearby for a while. No people, just few Mallard Ducks on the beach, too cold!!!

At home I was playing with Photoshop layers trying to make a plain photo to look like 3D-image. I'm quite pleased with the result.

This is not a real tutorial, because my English is not good enough to explain all the stages I had to do but anyway it was fun and since there was a bad weather I had a pleasant afternoon with this 'brown duck-on-brown sand-image' So, The first photo is the original and the last one is the result. All photos between them are layers (transformed to photos) that I made or used making the last photo.

These are great ! ! The last one is "out of frame"
or out of picture. I haven't been able to do that one yet.

Thanks, Doreen. The last one is the final result. Try to add shadows and it'll do the impression 'out of the frame'. :)

Great fun Kris, on a cold summer's day and it has been so effective! You had a very good starting point with the great clarity of the original image.

Bravissima! I'm trying to make some tricks like this with the aid of a big english book of the GIMP program. It's hard for the beginners....the layers: big mistery............Wonderful result, Kris ! Console yourself: here it's raining and raining and not so warm, too! Ciao ciao !
