This is the year Malaysia gained it's independance.
 
An old man sharing his food with pigeons. Again, this is another favourite photo of mine. The kindness of a stranger extends to not just other people, but to animals as well. I don't think he's well off to-do judging from what he's wearing; old tacky clothes, but he has a very big and generous heart. Bless him.

This last pic is my favorite, too. I am always touched when I see poor people feeding animals or sharing their scarce resources.
