What also helped was adopting two kitties in desperate need of a loving home. This is Mouffette and Sophie.

With the tough economic times, a great many animals are simply being abandoned. It's really sad. If you had to move, would you leave one of your kids behind? I wanted to take them all home but it just wasn't possible.
Please have your pet spayed or neutered and if you plan to adopt a cat or a dog, I ask that you consider one from a shelter.

A pet is a responsibility for a LIFE with a HEART AND SOUL! good messages Wendy.

Right now I'm feeding a gorgeous tiny white cat that only shows up at night begging for food. I'm hoping she'll decide it's safe during the day, too. It's always sad to lose a pet. I'm sorry about your Anastasia...18 years is a good long life for a cat.

Max is a rescue dog and the others I've had were also adopted. I believe Adoption is the way to go. Thanks for bringing the topic up. And as Wendy said--always Spay or Neuter.
