Every year the club participates in the 4th of July parade, and interestingly enough, something always seems to happen.

A battery goes dead, overheating issues, a tire problem, something....

But this year...something happened that caused a lot of us to get involved...if only we had photos of it....

The morning started off simple enough...

...decorations were added and then we headed over to the pancake breakfast...

It is always a treat to have Bill in the show, as he will just find anyone to hug

He didn't ask for permission to put his foot on my tire...

... but, we still got along, which if you know Bill, that can be difficult at times...

...but the fun was about to end. You can see it in his eyes as he is exiting his car...

Not that you can tell in the photos, but everyone's car has decorations on it but his...

...and that is because his keys were nowhere to be found....

...nowhere...

The parade is starting soon, so we begin tearing his car apart from the inside out...

First the lower rear seat cushion and then the backrest...

We can see in the trunk through a small hole, but no keys are visible...

...then someone thinks we can trip the latch with a long metal rod....no luck 

Frantically Bill called home to have his wife bring the spare set over...

...and with blood pressure at the boiling point, the keys arrived with 10 minutes to go...

...a happy ending for such a sweet guy...

...and the other set never found in the car or on the street...

The rest of the parade went off perfectly...

Always nice to have Dick and Jan with us

Mike keeps telling us that next year, the Chevy will be in the parade....sure...we heard that last year!

And you will notice, still no decorations on Bill's Camaro....

With the decorations done, it is time to hang out and get photos of the club members

After the parade it is off to a club member's home for a BBQ!!!
