Yes, time is real bad everywhere !!! A bit eerie to look at this at 0130hr.
Pkeener said at 1:15 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
David, it was eerie to see at I:30 in the day light!

Tough times come to us all, I'm afraid.
Ira said at 1:18 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
It is the severe world for the people also. And severe truth. There can be a time sweet lie leaves? But such strong desire to believe in fairy tales...
Ira said at 1:21 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Terribly... For all
Wildthing said at 1:31 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Looks like recession hits everyone, including these mannequins. Bottom line is, we tighten the belt and enjoy the company of loved ones and friends, and have a good day despite the hard times that every generation has to go through at least once. Health and laughter are more important than wealth and power.
Pkeener said at 1:35 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
amen, Mike.
i am making light of a very serious situation, Ira.
Patgf58 said at 1:41 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Also on the lighter side a new title could be "Painless Dismemberment"
Pkeener said at 1:45 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Pat, i had a few in mind and that was close to one of them!
Appropos said at 1:53 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
poor dummies :)... they could always write a book called recession for dummies
Ira said at 1:53 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
I hope, that the love will give rescue and life
Pkeener said at 2:00 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Ira, seriously, i think hard times are what make us grow and appreciate that every day shared with loved ones, is what is important. That and finding the positive in every experience.

Farid, there you go! perfect. Probably be a best seller. Dummies are smiling all the way to the bank!
Ira said at 2:06 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
I try...
Ira said at 2:12 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:

21-gramm said at 2:44 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
world of people VS dummies world: some are losing their faith, others do not feel that they spread on the constituent parts...

Excellent observation, Pam!
NeusinhaGedoz said at 2:59 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Excellent tabblo. An interesting topic.
Chilla said at 3:41 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
A poignant message Pam! The dummies clearly had no say in the matter!
Welshchick said at 5:23 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Wow...Pam! I feel like she is trying to reach to him and encourage him..."don't close yourself off...things will get better...hold on Babe, I'm here for you...and...I love you..to pieces"
Sd14 said at 5:37 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:

PhotoPop said at 5:41 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Well take heart America, you see disenfranchisement but I see a new career. "SPARE PARTS" for purchase or rentals. John----- OUT.
Pkeener said at 6:13 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Thanks, guys. Tough times call for drastic measures, and i think these dummies might just make it
Rdneg10 said at 6:13 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
I didnt know you were into nudes! Great work and funny too!
Leftofcenter said at 6:49 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
this is the pk who inspired me long time ago, "tabblo for dummies", brilliantly sick. love it.
Lifequest22 said at 6:51 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
This reminds me of a movie poster about the future--- one of those SF genre "end of the world" plots. Pam--perfect POVs (yes, I said it) . I like how you started out with the close ups and then panned out. This tabblo is definitely the poster child for today's world economy.
Leftofcenter said at 7:13 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
that's what I wanted to say when I wrote "brilliantly sick" ;))))
Candlepower said at 7:31 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
This is really good!
AliDar said at 8:21 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
I didn't expect the black paint. Took me awhile to figure it out, but I think it's on the outside of the window on the glass. I don't think you made light of the situation just showed us that you see it even in something most would miss. ... Now I'm asking myself if graffiti would exist it in a perfect world, ... I don't think so... Great tab Pam! :)
Hhwind said at 9:50 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Beautiful tabblo grim reminder of the state the world is in
Pkeener said at 10:14 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Dar, it is a closed down bar in a somewhat seedy block. The front of the window is painted black, so you can't see the dummies from the street. I walked by about 2 months ago without my camera, and everytime I thought about getting back to take some pics, it was raining, the wrong light, etc. So anyway, i finally got back and was so glad to see them, untouched.n The paint is on the outside, and just lends to the whole disenfranchised feel of neglect and quiet anticipation.

Teo, I thought the photos might stand alone, but the idea of the state of the world crept in as I was making this.

Leftie! It's still in me...the dark, quirky side, I mean! siiiiick

Thanks, Linda. Had to edit a few, but as i did, they sort of panned out on their own. Yes, the world's economy. In pieces. Behind dingy glass, on a seedy Boulevard...

Kelly, I love seeing these naked pieces..quite different from my life drawing models. ;)
Charlespop said at 11:06 p.m. on Jul 16, 2009:
Lefty has it right."brilliantly sick " !
Ericf said at 8:34 a.m. on Jul 17, 2009:
Interesting concept. I also get a feeling for "what was new and shiny is now old and forgotten" and "Everything ends up somewhere." Great work!
PhotoPop said at 9:57 a.m. on Jul 17, 2009:
I had to make light of this because this is what I am facing every day as my customers disappear on me. My full time job has become a part time job with part time pay.
Bxrgirl27 said at 10:14 a.m. on Jul 17, 2009:
This gave me a chuckle - although I do see the "other" side of it too.
Pkeener said at 12:35 p.m. on Jul 17, 2009:
Thanks, Eric! you know, I loved the dark "art" of these, but my need for comic relief won out. Laura, I am so glad you chuckled!
John, it is the truth. I was down the street from there, buying art supplies and I thought of you.
Charles, Leftie has a knack for coming up with these phrases. Maybe she will collaberate on the best seller...
Jesusgoz said at 3:19 p.m. on Jul 17, 2009:

AdSR said at 2:32 a.m. on Jul 18, 2009:
Hm, that black goo (paint?) on the window pane is kind of gross in connection with the dummy part. :P

Great shots & thoughtful Pam!

Debdog said at 6:07 p.m. on Jul 20, 2009:
oh nearly missed this!!!!! eerie, stark reality ...like the way you strated in close and pulled back..the black dripping adds to the feeling of...?brokenness (not a word, but) being ripped apart and discarded/
Pkeener said at 6:59 p.m. on Jul 21, 2009:
LOL thaks, guys. The dummies need your support. Bobbie! nice on the CTD. Love them.
Edu, you are so right! One Dummy's torment, is another Dummy's pleasure

Hey, thanks for supporting my local dummies, guys! ;)
Dar, this is a new tabblo ( i think you are thinkingof the ones i mad a couple years ago?) and it did have the text.
AliDar said at 3:57 p.m. on Aug 11, 2009:
Nope, this is the one. I was here before, but just didn't remember reading the 'it's a cruel town for a dummy' thing. <G> Hmmm, I still like this. :)
Pkeener said at 5:30 p.m. on Aug 11, 2009:
Dar, glad you stopped by again.

I drove by this shop the other day and the dummies we gone! They must have moved on to Vegas, or Taho or something...
