Kansas City Farmer's Market

Kansas City's historic local farmer's market is home to bold colors, friendly faces, enticing smells, and beautiful music. While roaming the aisles of the market, I observed things from a humanities perspective, including aesthetic appeals and relationships.

A historical landmark in downtown Kansas City.

Beautiful colors, textures, and smells are amidst this concrete jungle.

Music fills the air from violins, saxophones, and drums.

Every color is present at the market, sparking an artist's imagination.

An employee relaxing in the shade, wishing for something more...

A strong woman observing the passersby.

Ironic. Some people just don't follow the rules.

Two generations spending the afternoon together....

The best part of the farmer's market is the way the vendors lay out their products. They do not take any time to think about where they are putting things, which makes for a wonderful random collage of shapes, textures and colors.

...learning from one another.

Family members help the young...

...and the old.

See you next week for a new crowd of different people with similar dynamics and relationships.
