What a great image. Very simple but full of rich tones. . Aren't those the glass thingies that used to go on the electric poles. I have a blue one I bought years ago.

Hi Linda, thanks for dropping by. Yes, you are correct - these "thingies" did used to go on electric poles. I looked them up in Google and saw that they come in a variety of shapes and colours and I do believe there are regarded as antiques and may be quite valuable. The photo is horribly noisy but I didn't have the time or patience to fix it before posting on tabblo!
Hollyridger said at 12:03 a.m. on Aug 4, 2009:
.... oops, "they are regarded as...." is what I meant to say! By the way, they sit on my deck barrier, facing west so it was easy to catch the sunset.

Noisy?? It`s perfect, with such rich texture.

Thank you ALL, as well as those who commented earlier, so much. And, a BIG thank you, too, to TABBLO for reinforcing for me what a powerful hobby photography is.
