Husaby kyrka (church) was built around the 9th century.
The church is located south east of Kinnekulle and is mostly known for being the place where Olof Skötkonung was baptized (in a sacred well, just east of Church.
Olof Skötkonung became the fist truly Christian king in Sweden. Olof had a Kings Farm near Husaby which he donated to the first bishop's seat in Sweden.
The church is an unusually large Romanesque church with a high west tower, originally functioning as a defence tower.

The wooden screen is quite unique in Sweden. It served to divide the chancel from the nave. |

The hole in the wall is called Ambon and served as a pulpit. |

The church interior is atmospheric, with ceiling-paintings from the Church's earliest days, and colourful in red and green colours despite the fact that very little light will not enter.
The walls are also very high for a relatively small church, which brings to mind a tower rather than a church.
Among the inventory is an episcopal seat from the 13th century |
