Trip back home to West Virginia

We love all our children, but have you noticed that there is always a special child, in my case my middle child who never forgets a Birthday or to send Flowers for Mothers day.

Well I am 74 and my sight is failing, so it was with delight that I received plane tickets to see my home state of West Virginia, and to share our memories of the State with my Grandson.

How green were the trees, how beautiful the hills, with their canopies of leaves hanging over the winding roads.

The covered bridge is closed to traffic, but I can still remember the sound, when as a child I road over it with my Mother.

My sister in laws beautiful lilies, my old friends. My Grandson taller than I now, looking at the grave of a relative from 15 generations ago. His red hair like that of my deceased sister and my cousin.

I hope my daughter knows how thankful I am to her for this gift of a trip to my Birthplace. I love her dearly. And when my sight finally goes, I will keep these pictures in my mind and take them out and look at them in my thoughts. Thank You S
