any of various plants (as genera Onopordum, Cirsium, and Cnicus) of the composite family, with prickly leaves and heads of white, purple, pink, or yellow flowers; esp., the Scotch thistle (O. acanthium) with white down and lavender flowers

They may not be flowers, DOREEN, but I think thistles are terrific. And as you said, everything seems to be attracted to them.

Lovely macros. Quite a unique feel of wide open spaces in some of them, too. That can be tough when working with tiny subjects like you have here. Nicely done! Congratulations on Tabblo of the Day!
