A nice view of the river while driving down Rte 127 toward Anisquam (which is apparently a part of Gloucester). |

Driving up Rte 127, toward Rockport, I took a wrong turn and found this houseboat floating on the river. I think it's the Porter River |
The Rockport Public Library. My car was parked across the narrow side street it fits on. It has stone benches out in the side yard and lovely flowers. |

Another view of the river. I was standing near Gloucester's Civil War Memorial to the sailors who died. |

This sign says it all. Driving up Rte 127A you pass a small building which is a Vixitor's Center. You can buy postcards, maps, get tourist info and this sign definitely says "Rockport". The classic Motif #1 graces the welcome to town. |

I believe this is either a Baptist, or a Methodist church. You pass it coming into the center of Rockport either on the road it faces, the road facing the back or the furthest road over which is the one I was on. |
The waterfront Civil War Monument in Anisquam. Dedicated to the sailors who lost their lives in the bloody conflict of 1861 - 1865. |

Motif #1 complete with boats. Taken from a side street that faces the water. |
One of the many fascinating, and unique, shops in Rockport. At the entrance to Bearskin Neck. |
This sign tells you how Bearskin Neck got it's name back around 1635. A bear was trapped and killed on that stretch of land - hence the name. |

Another Rockport shop. Possibly on Bearskin Neck at this point. |

I don't know what this little lighthouse is for but it sits in the middle of the intersection where three roads converge into the main drag in Rockport Center. |
This is the first shop you can actually claim is on the left hand side going up Bearskin Neck. |

Shopping on Bearskin Neck. Lovely old waterfront buildings. |
A view of Rockport Harbor looking over the fence on the right as you walk up Bearskin Neck. |
Bearskin Neck has some of those telescopes that you put quarters into to check out the view. It was a gorgeous day up there but I ran into rain on the way home - in several places. You'd never know it to look at that beautiful blue sky! |

A fleet of small boats await their owners in Rockport Harbor off of Bearskin Neck. |

I believe this would be a view looking Northward from the top of Bearskin Neck. |
Several people, or small groups, were enjoying the view, the sun and the pleasant breeze. |

My favorite shop - Helmut's Strudels! After all these years they're still there and I can induldge in the chocolate croissants you can't find any where else! (Or plain, raspberry or strawberry and cream cheese etc.) |
