Los Angeles fires - August 29 - September 5, 2009

This isn't a picture of clouds - it's all smoke thanks to a bunch of fires raging across the Los Angeles area as I write this.

On my way out to a friend's place, I stopped to take this shot across the wetlands of smoke coming off the hills in the distance. You can

even see a couple tiny glowing flames on top of the hills towards the right of frame. Below are some shots taken a day later. I played

around with some settings to cut through the atmospheric haze, which is why they have the grainy look they do.

And below are a few more shots just taken today.

good shots, Sean. I watched 60 Minutes tonight and they had an interesting segment on why there are so many more super fires in the West than there were 15 years ago.
