The Pacific Crest Trail extends from the Canadian border to Mexico, passing through the states of Washington, Oregon, and California. We are gradually backpacking the Oregon section, hiking north to south. This is year 6, and in 6 nights, 7 days, we walked the section between highway 58 near Willamette Pass, and highway 138 near the Cascade Crest .

Cool expedition you've been on. I love the trail breaks. And the camp fires. And that first cup of coffee in the morning.

The crew got together again! It is fun to follow your adventures, Allan. Can’t pick a favorite photo in this so well-blended reportage. Waiting for more...

What a great adventure, ALLAN. That view of Mt. Thielsen is very impressive. Didn't you dare to climb it?

You know you're going to have to post a map of your progress to date the next time. :) ... I can smell those damp wool socks drying by the campfire right now. <Grin> ... BTW, I hope you had a good water filter with you!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Eduardo, I climbed Mt. Thielsen twice before, but not on this trip. Dar, next time I'll include a map photo. After filtering and boiling, the water wasn't too bad.

That sunset shot is so gorgeous that it almost made me forget there's no hot shower on such a trek. You have my admiration for the sacrifice.
