Fabienne Rhein is a French artist who recently embarked on the north American adventure, packed up hubby & kids to open her own (very luminous and airy) art gallery in Old Montreal (St-Paul street East)

The "thoughts of the day"  she hangs in the windows of the workshop initially peaked my curiostiy. I took a lot of photos from the outside, never entered the gallery, until, by pure chance, I met Fabienne and, as kindred spirits often do, we instantly "clicked"...

Annelies---I'm glad you got passed the outside of her gallery. Wonderfull story of the start of a new friendship. I really like her free spirit style--it's like yours. That's how you created this tabblo--Leftie style. This really tells the whole story--the artist's work, her tools, her notes, and the artist herself. Most Excellent.

what a wonderful story. this is such a great tabblo. i love the layout and the story you told. She seems to embrace life with zest and it shows on her face and in her work. i bet she loves this tabblo. my fave pic is third to last of you in the reflection and her cool painting

yes, she includes newspaper cutouts in some of her work. Fabienne DID view the tab, "approves" and likes it very mucho. thx PK.

Merci Karine et Thierry. Fabienne est une "fille du sud" (du côté de Nice), elle ressent la vie en bleu, ce bleu chaud, couleur de la mer, le ciel...

Wat een mooi verhaal Annelies, ik kreeg eerst de indruk dat je haar al langer kende tot ik verder keek en het stukje las. De teksten doen mij erg aan de "Loesje" http://www.loesje.nl/ (nee, niet van mij ;-))) teksten uit Nederland denken.

Ouais, il est super cet assemblage (je ne prononçe plus le mot de t***o !) Evidemment, j'aime bien son tableau du pianiste avec les chanteuses ! et aussi la photo de vous deux !... Le chat pourrait dire 'Un joueur d'échecs c'est comme de la peinture, s'il n'est pas brillant il est mat' - fô l'excuser, ça faisait longtemps qu'il n'avait pas fait de citation...:)

wow, Annelies, das ist mal wieder ein Tabblo ganz nach meinem Geschmack!!! Wir haben in unserem Kunstverein eine Frau, die ähnliche Bilder malt wie Fabienne. Man erkennt sie einfach überall heraus- großartig!!!

I am glad you met Fabienne, and could take us all inside her charming gallery. I like her collages - and her thoughts ("le coleur est au service de mes rêves" being my favorite). Your photos are also luminous and airy. Pic #15 is my favorite - and it's nice to see you (with both eyes!!) with Fabienne in the last shot (J. should start tabbloing too...)

Thx, Edu. of all people, YOU know that I actually have 2 eyes :) I'm sure you walked by Fabienne's gallery, it's in old Montreal, right across that small church overlooking the port (you took pictures of that church, I've seen them in one of your tabs).

I sell these materials but rarely do I get to see a finish painting. Like the way you captured the small stuff, the stained brushes, the soiled rags, the palette knives, the mediums, and the inspirational notes. Annelies, it looks like the beginning of beautiful friendship.
