Wow, you've gone really far this time! Victoria Falls are a wonder, and your photos did justice to it. I can't imagine myself jumping into a place called Devils Pool (whatever it is, wherever it is located...). Hope more pics of Zambia will be posted soon.

Dear Celia, I was waiting for this first one. Again, you exceeded all my expectations! Excellent set! I will write more in the evening, when I come back from work. The photo of the blue flowers, of the elephant, and so many others justify to me that this Tabblo should be one of my favorites! Thanks so much!

Celia, first of all, let me write this tabblo is my favorite and should be of other colleagues. What magnificent collection of photos. What gorgeous scenery! And the canyon, seen from above looks like the Itaimbezinho Brazil. Congratulations.

gill@***.com said at 10:47 a.m. on Sep 17, 2009:
Beautiful and awe-inspiring - fascinating to get the context of the falls from the air as well as being amongst them at water lever and eye level. Liked the elephant! Well done!

Noreen, thank you. It is amazing you arrive in africa and see an elephant and take so many pictures of it that mostly end up deleted because you then see so many more and get much better pics!! The whole trip has been the most enormous thrill!
Gill, thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking time to visit and to comment. Hopefully I can tell you all about it in a couple of weeks! Back on 5th Oct!
Sandy, thank you
Foguinho, many thanks for your kind comments.

I`m really happy for you that you enjoyed it already !!!!!

Fabio_DL said at 8:59 p.m. on Sep 17, 2009:
Celia, This is a wonderful Tabblo! I went through the set photo by photo, in larger size, and I could see more details. The pictures with the Sun in the background are fantastic! The star is so beautiful; it makes everything different. It seems like painting. Second photo, fourth row from the bottom is fantastic! Other scenes with the Sun and the Falls are also mesmerizing! The photo of the boat is very precious! You and your children in the water are very relaxed, even being close to such a dangerous border. But the guide is there for you. Good! The photo of the elephant is very powerful. At the same time, it transmits peace. I could see some animals crossing the river (photo of the bird with the open wings) Is that correct? You did a great job, Celia! Thanks so much for taking your heavy equipment to such a distant place! I don't have words to thank you for sharing your precious photos with us! Job well done! Bravo, Celia!!!
Fabio_DL said at 9:01 p.m. on Sep 17, 2009:
55 wonderful shots!
Fabio_DL said at 10:43 p.m. on Sep 17, 2009:
My mistake. I think the "animals" that I saw are in reality rocks on the river, with birds on top. I am looking forward to seeing the next set of your adventures in Africa. Thanks much!
Chilla said at 2:53 a.m. on Sep 18, 2009:
Pat, thank you, those guides really knew what they were doing and we felt totally safe in their hands.
Dimitriy and Yuriy, thank you, so glad you like them
Rosanne, muito obrigado
Karine et Thierry, merci beaucoup
Doreen, thank you
Annalies, I am not surprised it was included in the "50 places to visit before you die", I am grateful I have been there. I would love to see it in March or April during the wet season, but then it would be impossible to swim!
Andreas thank you so very much, I knew you would like this! If you do go and want to swim in the Devils Pool I think you can only do this after the middle of August, it had only been open for 2 weeks when we went. We were so lucky, it was the highlight of the visit for me!
Fabio, thank you very much for all your appreciative comments. Somehow the sunsets were so much more vivid in Africa, It was wonderful to look across the river and see the herd of elephants the other side, there were also hippo on an island in the middle and we also saw crocodile gliding past. I shal be including more pictures of animals and birds in my next Tabblos from Botswana.
It was all an amazing experience and I am so happy to be able to share with friends on Tabblo, thank you all!

Che meraviglia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have always heard about them, but never seen photos so clear, from very near and from the plane. I'm really breathless...........I'm glad you had such an experience; I hope these places could remain savage like this for ever. Grazie, grazie!!!
Chilla said at 4:26 a.m. on Sep 30, 2009:
Mirella, thank you so much, that is so kind of you. It was an amazing experience, especially swimming just above the falls!
Moorlerche said at 3:18 a.m. on Oct 3, 2009:
It looks to me as if the waterlevel has been as low as when I was there 15 years ago. Did you have the possibility to go to the Zimbabwean side or is it too dangerous for tourist under the current political conditions? I hope you have also enjoyed a sunset boat-tour on the Zambezi. It's most phantastic. Though one of the greatest events of my Africa trip was the one-day-rafting-tour on the Zambezi below the Falls. I still dream of doing it again. How long have you stayed in Africa, Celia?
Chilla said at 4:40 a.m. on Oct 3, 2009:
Anke, this is so great to know you have been here too! The first three sunset pictures were taken from a boat on the Zambezi. Undoubtedly the highlight of our stay here was the swim in the Devils Pool! It would be great to return when the water is high it must be truly awesome then!!
