Missing Japan & the Japanese

(this tabblo could be called "Pretending to be Charlespop",

because I am shamelesly trying to imitate his unmistakable - and inimitable - style).

Eduardo, you got the look and feel of a Charlespop tabblo down with complete accuracy....One minor difference is the NCPT (number of cellphones per tabblo ). Your tabblo's NCPT is only 5. My average tabblo comes in with an NCPT at around 13....... I am looking forward to seeing some more of your great photos from your trip to Japan !

CHARLES: I knew something was missing: it's the flood of cellphones! And the masks, obviously. I am not so good in capturing masks & cellphones - it takes time & talent. I am afraid I will never reach an acceptable NCPT. There are still many photos of Japan to be posted, including my favorite zen temple in Kyoto (which you have photographed, too). All I need is... remember its name!

DOREEN: Mimicking people I admire helps me becoming a better photographer...

Le Japon est semble t-il un pays attirant.
Charles est largement en tête concernant les téléphones portables ainsi que les masques.
Les deux images du tir à l'arc sont remarquables.

Eduardo já estava com saudades do Japão e de sua fotos rssss Fico pasma com o estilo deles nunca perdem a pose sempre elegantes em qualquer situação. Gsotei das fotos dos senhores de idade com rosto bem marcados pelo tempo.

SOLANGE & LILIANA: Os japoneses têm uma postura impecável, e até o ato de se curvar, ao cumprimentar, tem uma altivez que me parece superar a própria reverência em si. Isso me lembra também a postura das mulheres hindus, deslizando com seus sáris, pulseiras e colares, numa elegância sem comparação (independentemente de serem ricas, pobres, jovens, idosas).

while I was strolling down I was thinkin' "mmm... very à la Charlespop" but that's normal he has cornered that part of the world for the tabblo community. still great shots, the only "Edu photo" might be the first one, the smiling Japanese girls :)

ANNELIES: Thanks for the tip. I thought that it would be "Missing Canada & Canadians" or "Missing America & Americans", so it would probably be "Missing Japan & Japaneses". But does it really change if you say "the Canadian(s)", "the American(s)?". I will correct it, anyway. Hope Mikey has a good explanation for that.

SHIRL: Maybe you are right: people in Japan seem to be more "self contained" (even the crazy ones in Harajuko). I am one of those who fly of madly in all directions...

KRIS: Pretending to be someone (specially here on Tabblo) is a fun way to try different points of view, styles, skills.

RODNEY: Thanks! These photos were "rejects" until I decided to post them side by side - then they got a new meaning.

ANDRE: Thanks for the link. I don't know much about Fred Mercury (only a fews songs by Queen) but he was surely a great entertainer - and a great pretender.

"Missing... Japanese"...¿No le falta algo? "Japanese" sería "lo japonés", un adjetivo sustantivado? ¿O los japoneses? Creo que ahí iría Japanese people... ¡¡Qué sé yo!! Medio raro. Perdón, no quiero parecer negativa en todo.

LILIANA: Meu Inglês é meio precário, e embatuco nessas horas. Eu havia colocado "Japaneses", e a Annelies corrigiu, sugerindo que deveria usar o singular. Como ela fala Inglês, deve saber mais do que eu, que só arranho. Veja a resposta que dei a ela, no comentário aí em cima. Talvez a chave esteja mesmo na questão do adjetivo substantivado: ao falar "the Japanese", o substantivo (people) está implícito, e como em Inglês o adjeivo nãoi tem plural...

Tenés razón, debe de ser así, qué feo eso de que el adjetivo no tenga plural... Bueno el inglés tampoco tiene género en los sustantivos, cosa que les resulta tan difícil luego, a los que estudian español (o portugués, francés y otras lenguas, supongo): ¡¡acertar el género!!

ANNELIES: You did nothing, don't worry. Me and Liliana were discussing the title "Japan & de Japanese" or "Japan & the Japaneses", if "Japanese" is substantive (hence should be used in the plural) or if it is an adjective (to be used in singular). If you had babafished my comment...

LILIANA: Eu tinha o mesmo problema com o Alemão, no qual o gênero das palavras é normalmente o inverso do Português (a Sol, o Lua...). Como regra básica, para errar menos, eu sempre trocava o gênero.

So beautifull Edu !! How can you capture so well the contrast between past and present , pure tradition and stressful and pop modernlife in Japan ?I love portraits, but it 's not easy to take them without hurting people ( for example in islamic countries , they consider taking photos like apturing the soul of a human )
When were you there ? So lucky guy ! I missed the trip with some friends who visited Japan last summer, so shade ! But many people said the most beautifull season to visit Japan is Spring, when the cherries blossom Amitiés . Hy Hoa

Mikey has no explanation for the English language. It is more complex than the Davinci Code. Maybe I'll learn how to speak and write better in my own lingo one of these days. I knew what you meant by Japaneses, Edu. Maybe the plurel should be Japani, like cacti & Jedi :)

This is awesome Eduardo...I'd not call it "imitation" I'd rather say it's an "inspiration"...
I believe, anything innate just comes out naturally, Charlespop inspired you hence...you came up with a similar thing...there's a saying...great artists think alike... :D Congrats again for a fantastic documentation.
