It was time for "Khao Yai" trip again!
Khao Yai (literally, Big Mountain) is a national park about 200 kilometers from Bangkok. Titus' and Tatia's school (Ploypoom) organized another trip for the kids and parents to visit Khao Yai for nature appreciation. We took off on Friday morning, stopping for steak and hamburger lunch at Chokechai Farm. After lunch, we drove to meet others at the visitor center on Khao Yai. As we approached Khao Yai, we rolled down the windows to let the forest air clean our lungs.
We got to stay in a cabin with Meen's family. The bed was thankfully one level. Tatia's chance of having a cut on her head like last year was minimal. |

Titus and Tatia were noticeably different from their trip last year. They became much more independent. They would follow Aj. Watchara (the naturalist, our guide) closely and listened to him, paying no attention to dad and mom. Last year, Daddy Ko needed to carry Tatia around in the forest trail. This year, both Titus and Tatia carried their own backpacks (with their notebooks, pencils, raincoats, and water) and walked along with Aj. Watchara and other kids and teachers. At meal times, Titus would join his friends and Tatia joined her teachers; they ate just one meal with dad and mom. |

This year we had a lot fewer leeches than last year. Titus was quite disappointed because he wanted to have leeches on him so that he could tell his friends about it. He tried really hard to have leeches suck his blood, not allowing Mama Aor to spray insect repellant on him, and going everywhere Aj. Watchara warned of leeches. He did all this to no avail though--no leech got on him. Nevertheless, he was a hero to his friends and parents by being the LEO (Leech Extracting Operator.) Whenever a leech climbed onto someone, Titus would go and get the leech off, rolled it into a ball (gently so that it was not killed), and flicked it into the forest. |

แล้ว Family Trip ของรร.อนุบาลบ้านพลอยภูมิที่รอคอยก็มาถึง เราได้ไป "เขาใหญ่" กันอีกครั้ง
เราออกเดินทางกันตั้งแต่เช้าวันศุกร์ แวะกินสเต๊กกันที่ฟาร์มโชคชัย แล้วค่อยบึ่งไปเจอกับชาวพลอยภูมิบนเขาใหญ่โน่น พอเข้าเขตเขาใหญ่เราก็ปิดแอร์เปิดกระจกกันเพื่อสูดอากาศดีๆกันให้เต็มที่ กะว่าจะล้างควันพิษที่ค้างอยู่ในปอดออกให้หมด คราวนี้เราพักกันในบ้านพักโซนธนะรัชต์ เราได้บ้านรัฐมนตรี พักร่วมกับครอบครัวน้องมีน ไม่มีเตียงสองชั้นแบบปีที่แล้ว ธีญาไม่ต้องกลัวหัวแตกแล้วลูก
เด็กๆเปลี่ยนไปมากจากเมื่อปีที่แล้ว เดินดูนกฟังการบรรยายจาก อ.วัชระ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญทางด้านธรรมชาติ ไม่เหลียวหลังหาพ่อแม่กันเลย การเดินป่าในวันที่สองยิ่งเห็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงชัดเจน จากปีที่แล้วพ่อโก้ยังต้องอุ้มธีญาเดินป่าอยู่เลย ปีนี้ทั้งธีธัชกับธัชธีญาเดินแบกเป้สัมภาระของตัวเองที่ใส่เสื้อกันฝน กระติกน้ำ กระดาษและดินสอ ล่วงหน้าไปกับคุณครูและผองเพื่อนๆ อย่างอดทน พอถึงเวลากินข้าว ธีธัชก็เดินถือจานข้าวมาบอกว่า "หม่าม้า ธีธัชไปนั่งกินข้าวกับเพื่อนนะ" ส่วนธีญาก็เดินมาบอกว่า "ธีญาจะกินข้าวกับครูนกนะคะ" ทริปนี้ได้นั่งกินข้าวกับลูกๆแค่มื้อเดียวเอง
ปีนี้ไม่มีทากเยอะแบบปีที่แล้ว สร้างความผิดหวังให้กับธีธัช เพราะเธอยังไม่เคยโดนทากเกาะ เลยไม่มีเรื่องไปอวดเพื่อนๆ มาปีนี้เธอพยายามอย่างมากที่จะเป็นเหยื่อทาก โดยไม่ยอมให้แม่ฉีดสเปรย์กันทาก ตรงไหนที่ อ.วัชระบอกว่าให้ระวังทาก เธอก็ต้องขอแฉลบไปเหยียบซะหน่อย แต่เธอทำได้อย่างมากสุดก็คือช่วยจับทาก ธีธัชสามารถดึงทากออกจากขาเพื่อน บรรจงม้วนเป็นก้อนกลม แล้วก็ใช้นิ้วดีดมันกลับเข้าไปในดงไม้อย่างง่ายดาย ช่างกล้าหาญจริงๆลูกแม่ |
