Linda, this is a beautiful and very artistic tabblo of the beautiful flowers in your garden, I like the gentle effects uyou have used. My favourite of these flowers is the Plumbago which we grow in Crete but would not survive the winters of the UK, it is such a beautiful blue!

A feelgood set, Linda. My favorites; the elephant ear plant, that has a look of albino corn, the blue jay, and best last, Concrete & Red Leaf.

Precious shots here....my favs are 2,8 and the last photo.
Leftofcenter said at 7:16 a.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
of course I jumped @ the unidentified insect- but the bleeding heart and the begonia bloom amply made up for it. but the last shot (concrete & red leaf) is my favorite. it could have been a tab all on its own. something sad and "senuous" :)

this is a remarkable set, Linda. It really shows your versatility in capturing images of all kinds. Your garden is a beautiful and peaceful place for you to recharge and reflect and perhaps be inspired.

The baby jay is an amazing find, both photographically and otherwise...
love the red leaf on concrete, of course!

love your captions and info

don't see any fallen squirrels, though?!?

Beautiful flowers and super great macros !!!
Lifequest22 said at 11:45 a.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
Thank you all for your encouraging, positive comments.

Andre--even in Florida, summer comes to an end and many of the plants will stop blooming while they rest during the winter months.

CELIA--I too admire the Plumbago--it's very popular in Florida and always flourishes. MIKE--albino corn is the perfect description....LEFTIE--sorry the big bug scared you.:) EDU--my yard is my own little paradise. Some what of a wild landscaping.

The little Jay fell out of a tree and the adult birds were in an uproar...squawking and shrieking on the side of my house. The poor little guy couldn't quite fly yet but was able to hop away to the safety of some neighbors shrubs.

Pam--thanks. NO-- No falling squirrels here. I'm still trying to recover from that experience.

Thanks again everyone. I think my summer visions are over and it's time to hit the road in search of some new images.

Buschinho said at 12:55 p.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
wonderful, I love nature, but somehow the one with the concrete is my favourite!
AliDar said at 2:21 p.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
These are spectacular! I love the switch of focus in the first two! ... Your bleeding hearts are different from the ones we have up here, and it looks like they they fruit into something that looks like a little green pepper. Very cool! ... I'm worried about the baby Jay :(

I can't decide which is my favourite shot. It's a tie between the one of the butterfly that you manipulated, and the shot of the Crape Jasmine. They are both very beautiful, and I'd be proud to display either of them on the walls of my home. :)
Tishfish said at 2:23 p.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
You have an absolutely gorgeous garden ! ! ! ! !
Welshchick said at 2:29 p.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
Linda! I am so charmed to see the Hoya plant...they just aren't around here at all and my mom had one growing in the Cafe we owned when I was a kid...it was very old too and it bloomed such exquisite waxy blossoms just like yours! I adore your flowers~~~BRAVO!
Lifequest22 said at 2:48 p.m. on Sep 23, 2009:
Again, I say thank you.

DAR--I was worried about the little jay too. I hope he made it. The crape jasmine was just a small plant when my friend gave it to me and it has grown quite tall and is always full of blooms. There are many varieties of bleeding hearts. Mine is a vine and covers part of my fence.

RHONDA, my friend named the Hoya-Matilda. I don't know why, but she did. And whenever she comes for a visit she asks about Matilda and admires her gorgeous blooms.

My garden is actually a bit on the wildside. Definitely not a well manacured one. But it's Florida and we have a long growing season. Roses don't do well here in the heat, but I do have what is called an antique rose--they are passed down from many of the originals. They were brought over from China and are well suited to Florida.

I know, I know but this has been a particularly poor summer up here. It rained and was cool for half the summer. Now the leaves are beginning to fall. Where is the justice, for that matter where is the sun and the warm temps. I suppose I have summer envy.
