Excellent photos !!! But isn't it dangerous to get too close to the baboon ?

Merci beaucoup Thierry et Karine
David thank you, it is amazing how close we were able to get to some of the animals in Botswana although we were not so close to the Baboons. Most of my safari pictures are taken with a 400mm lens.
Thank you Debbie, they were so entertaining to watch!

Wonderful set, Celia! It is like a sequence of "A Family of Little Grebes", but with another specie.

We can browse these photos and follow all the movement and grace of this family. The little one can go up and down on his mother and he feels completely protected and in peace. How smooth the ride is!

Celia, thanks so much for sharing this precious series with us!

Wow, these are such a fascinating collection of shots! That baby baboon knows how to play it up for attention! My fave shot is the one of the little one looking upward in an almost wistful, innocent way that makes it so endearing. You definitely have created an entertaining tabblo here. What an adventure you've been having!
Chilla said at 3:16 a.m. on Sep 26, 2009:
Thanks Bob and Loes
Thanks Bob, although I did not find them ugly I understand that some might!
Thanks Loes, I am glad you saw it as a playful Tabblo as that was my intention!
YonderCreature, thank you so much for your sweet comments.

Fascinating is the right expression for this photo series. It's nearly a film for you can see how the baby moves. Absolutely gorgeous.
Chilla said at 4:46 a.m. on Oct 3, 2009:
Thank you Anke, this was really just for fun , I had my camera on rapid shoot and was so lucky to get this sequence of shots!

Africans told me that baboons are very mean and nasty. This does not look like that.
