life in art :: art in life

i see art everywhere.

on city streets

unshaded lenses,

and in stolen moments.

in serendipitous reflections

and playful interpretations.

i find most times

the buildings that hold art

are remarkable

works of art.

beauty in the process is pleasing to my eye

while windows are art waiting to happen

a slice of life can be so artfully composed

and every day brings another masterpiece.

Pkeener said at 8:00 p.m. on Sep 24, 2009:
I want to thank you all for the great inspiring comments. One of my favorite things is taking photos from the car window, while I am a passenger (naturally ;) I always use it as a challenge to capture the moment and if I fail, it's gone, just like the moment. I can't get attached to what is not.

When I am doing this, i set my digital camera to AUTO yes, Eduardo! I do it. My Canon lens has Image Stableization and I set the lens to Auto Focus. I can't imagine "dialing it in" from a car traveling at speeds up to 80mph. I never use flash, while on the fly, so the available light either works or doesn't
Same for inside the Art Museum. Most shots will be blurry, so as I am enjoying the art, which I rarely photograph, I sneak looks at other people and of course, the architecture.

The last shot is one of many in a series that I saw as the sky was turning to night and the mountains were on the horizon, as we sped back home. I stuck my arm out the window and fired away. I just loved how the clouds looked and I wanted to see if I could capture them.

I tried for about a month to make this tabblo, and the images just didnt seem to work for me, and by tying the ART theme together, it started to make sense. TOD was a pure shocker! but it felt good to get back in the saddle

thank you again!

Pam, Your Tabblo is a jewel! A mixture of art, urban life, light, shadow, life, happiness, and hope! You put a lot of thought, and hard work as well, to make this set. Thanks so much! I am feeling happier. In my mind, I am running to go beyond that billboard, in my trial to see more of that beautiful sunset.

Pam, this is a beauty. It makes me feel good to see such deft combination of word and image. I haven't had much time for tabblo lately because of a serious health issue with family. Keep up the good work!
Pkeener said at 3:05 p.m. on Sep 26, 2009:
Allan, I am sorry to hear of your family issue. I hope the best for you and yours. Thank you for taking a moment here, as your comments always make me smile or give me pause. The story just flowed out after trying to make individual captions, which completely eluded me at the time.

Thank you Ira! And Hello April, how arre you?
