DmitriyandYuriy said at 6:13 a.m. on Sep 29, 2009: Yeah element. But the flood is scary. Interesting reportage.
Ericf said at 8:04 a.m. on Sep 29, 2009: Thinking back on hurricane Katrina I remember the flood water being a mix of sewage and chemicals. It doesn't seem to have affected the children you've captured, they appear to be having fun.
Nice work!

Mariusblack said at 10:12 a.m. on Sep 29, 2009: thank you, everyone. These photos were taken in our district in Manila. It was real scary seeing the water rise to this level for the first time in recent history. But sad to say, our area is one of those fortunate to have only endured this kind of flood. Several cities and municipalities outside of Manila were hit so bad that the water rose to 30-50 feet, leaving hundreds of people stranded in their rooftops and massive piles of cars left useless for good. Rescue operations are still ongoing and a number are already safe. However, there are still those with missing family members, still hungry and cold. Thank you for your prayers.
Pkeener said at 12:46 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: My thoughts are with you, Marius. These photos really strike a chord, because I realize how real and awful it must be for you. Recording this event is necessary, if not heart heavy. I loke the water bottle laden truck, the orange jacket left behind on the street, the lone dog, but i feel so awkward picking favorite photos, knowing how horrible it is. So glad you are ok
I love the last photo..I would call it Jesus Saves.
Cowgirl said at 12:47 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: Oh so sad.... these shots have a SWEET AND SOUR ... Look.... I have been through a flood its a very scary ......... My prayers are with all there .....
Siagian said at 1:47 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: omg. this has been in the news everyday... i pray you and your loved ones are allright. (ps someone needs to tell those kids not to play in the water!)
Lifequest22 said at 1:58 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: Marius, when I heard about the flooding I immediately thought of you and James and the other tabbloers from the Phillipines and hoped we would hear that you were all ok. But I guess even a flood won't stop a photographer such as you from getting the shots. Woody is right---those flood waters can hide hidden dangers.
Excellant shots of this tragedy. Take care, Marius.
Leftofcenter said at 3:28 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: you were brave to venture out for these quite dramatic shots. there are some "good" ones, especially where the kids are concerned. their sense of optimism. having "fun" despite it all. of course we're all following this story closely. sending you positive vibes, kiddo!
Mirella said at 6:13 p.m. on Sep 29, 2009: I saw it at the TV; very sad. Its fantastic how children can, fortunately, have fun also in a difficult situation. Me too, I was waiting news from you and other Tabblo friends. Nice to ear from you and thanks for the reportage.

Dyowi said at 11:52 p.m. on Sep 30, 2009: This is really very sad, a lot of my friends are affected by this tragedy. thanks Marius for sharing this, it will serve as a reminder as how we should all start to save our planet.
Eduardo.affonso said at 7:14 a.m. on Oct 1, 2009: I have been reading about this tragedy, but your photos show a different (human) dimension of it. Hope everything will be fine soon.
Sirnicolay said at 8:15 a.m. on Oct 1, 2009: This is nothing compared to the others who were really dislocated by the storm. The Filipinos have the weird tendency to laugh amidst disasters... But this typhoon really endangered so many lives. Please continue to pray for us because two more storms are brewing as of this moment...
Noe said at 6:34 p.m. on Oct 1, 2009: And no matter the disaster... life takes its course always. Our thoughts and prayers are with all our brothers of Filipinas.
Andre. said at 5:21 a.m. on Oct 3, 2009: As seen on TV...Great coverage here. Somehow feels like fun. Not sure if it really was/is...
Moorlerche said at 6:17 p.m. on Oct 22, 2009: Goodness! Living close to the sea and at a tidal river one knows what this is about. Your photos are discriptive enough and need no additional words.
Dromoman said at 1:33 a.m. on Oct 23, 2009: fantastic photojournalism ... sad event tho.
