Stormy Weather

Hamburg, 4 October 2009

 

The first autumn storm blew over the city this weekend. The temperature has dropped and the air was christal clear. Often the sun was shining while the rain was pouring down. Awful weather can be so beautiful, when you are standing well sheltered on the balcony.

 

Colourful autumn greetings to everybody on tabblo! I am missing working here and looking at your masterpieces. But hopefully after exams next Friday I will have a bit more time to spend here. If I pass them allright, the next ones will be in 13 month, so there should be a bit more time for this joyful hobby.

It's a good weather for the bone warming  treat "Fliederbeergrog" (elderberry grog)!

 

base receipe:

a mug of elderberry juice thinned with water to your liking and 1/2 - full teaspoon of honey

heated (but not boiled) in a pot or microwave oven

 

refinements after taste:

1-3 pieces of orange peal

spices like cinnamon, cardamom and cloves

a dash of blended rum

Anke, I know you have been busy with your studies, but I always look forward to seeing your Tabblos and I am never disappointed. These are terrific shots of wonderful Autumn colours and you even make the rain look beautiful! I always appreciate it when you visit my Tabblos and you always add such interesting and thoughtful comments. Very best wishes for your exams on Friday. Anke, Thanks so much for giving us this treat, even with your exams approaching! Best of luck on Friday! As always, your pictures are excellent! And I learn a lot with your Tabblos. This also has a recipe that I will try. I knew Mike would add something "spicier"...LOL Last, but not least, all your pictures here are favorite. Thanks much and take care!

No Bob, no whisky. That's good for coffee but not for grog. Mike, you will perfectly blend into the nothern German population. You know our rule for true grog? Rum is a must, suggar might be used, water is superfluous. Well, as England is sharing the same weather, two days ahead of us, a mutual understanding about warming your insides should be expected, eh?

Thanks everybody for popping in. You might wanna jump on a plane and come around today to see the most lovely clear washed sky and brillant autumn colours, hardly a cloud to be seen and listen to the birds joyful singing. I will take a lunch break outdoors.

Ich würde schwarzen Tee mit etwas Zucker und Milch genießen und dazu ... Nordirischen Bushmills pur ;-)

Hello everybody und alle zusammen! Many thanks for your good wishes. I took them with me today, and in most subjects it went better than expected. However I fear I get oral exams in "Law and Taxes" as a christmas present. I pray not, but the exam was awful and learning for it is dead boring. Well, as I get the results in approx 2 month, I will see to enjoy your pictures and my making tabblos in the meantime. Take care! You are gorgeous people!
