Great quote - and the colors of Bahia are all here, enhanced by your lenses.

You know God is Brazilian - but what you probably ignore is that he was born in Bahia (it's known as "the land of Our Lord"). Maybe that's why Salvador has 365 churches, one for each day...

Andreas...Andreas... you are a master! What a magnificent tabblo - this is Bahia: multiple colors, multiple everything! Even multiple GODS!!! I loved all, but especially the last big pic - it's so impressive. A favorite, claro! Please let us know when your next trip to Brazil is.

you must have a SCHRANK full of tropical/exotic/colorful photos from your travels waiting for you to "throw" them together for another SUNNY tabblo!! the beach umbrella with the yellow table & chairs on the beach is DOOOOOOOOOOOOPE a favorite!!
BAHIA is a (French) song by my favorite (French) singer Véronique Sanson (Eduardo doesn't know her either!):

I love Salvador and Bahia, but God was born in Rio. My older brother and his family live there and once a year I go to there. There are many songs about Bahia and this is for you, enjoy it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3LmJ2AFBSY. This song Eduardo sure knows Annelies rssr

Everybody seems to know a song about Bahia... :)

You are right, ANNELIES, I had never heard of Véronique Sanson (nor of Alain Chamfort), but the song is nice (not very Bahian though...).

RITA: I have not listened to this song for ages! Eu gostava tb da versão em Português ("eu já falei pra titia / que eu vou jogar de beque no Bahia"...)

THIERRY: Thanks for this interesing duo with Georges Moustaki & Marta Contreras (playing a berimbau!). I haven't heard of him for decades.

Anyway, I still prefer "Samba da Bênção" (aka "Samba Saravah", also recorded by Pierre Barouh, and used by Claude Lelouch in his classic "Un homme et une femme") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNi_0rAIRPk&feature=related

I am here again... Now, I see all people remember a song with San Salvador. Pra mim (sorry!!!!) for me, there are two songs in my mind when I read or hear the name of the city: "Na Baixa do Sapateiro" , from Ary Barroso (a classic, I think), my father used to hear it, and "Toda menina bahiana" , sang and written by Caetano Veloso. It is nice to see how the same thing (city, in this case) say different ideas in each one!!
