Desire ~ Dreamland Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego

 

 

This morning I woke up

and saw the same again ...

the sun, the sea and the snow!

Then I knew

I had to get to dreamland

to find my peace on earth

and neverending fun

when I was in Rio 2005

 I saw a  documentary film of the brazilian explorer Amyr Klink

about his project "Antarctica 360".

Then I knew I will find my dreamland there down under...

 

when I did the trip 2008,

it was a once in a lifetime experience ...

( actually it was dope  ... ;-) )

 

but when my friend Herb and I

left the ship in Ushuaia,

I just learned from the crew

that they will welcome

some hours later

Amyr Klink as lecturer on board ...

You can imagine

that I became so excited

to meet him and thank him

for the inspiration

but unfortunately

we had to take the flight back

to Santiago ... what a pity!

Anyway, I hope I will meet him

 

 someday in Paraty

DOPE doesn't describe these magnificent surreal landscapes!! and you took brilliant photographs!! I mean I prefer the beach umbrella on a white sandy beach- BUT this adventure must have been an experience to remember! wow. beautiful.

Super adventure..I almost went there on a business trip to a factory in Tierra del Fuego but it didn't happen... now I see what I missed scrolling down this beautiful exploration trip that you captured so well..tks.

wow, sind das wundervolle Aufnahmen, Andreas. Natürlich wäre die Vollendung noch das Treffen mit Amyr Klink gewesen, aber so treibt es dich weiter vorwärts und wer weiß, wieviele wundervolle Tabblos uns das noch beschert?

On comprend aisément l'attachement que l'on peut ressentir pour un tel endroit.

Amyr Klink is sort of a "modern national hero", because of his adventures around the world (including his Antarctic odissey, obviously). It's a pity you couldn't meet him - maybe in Paraty, during the World Cup or the Olympic Games, who knows?

About the pics, all I can do is look at them and keep in silent astonishment. They are simply majestic. Hope to get to Tierra del Fuego someday, or even to Antarctica, before it melts...

Your photos are always superb and these are more!!!! Those blues are ... aren´t those, only. It is impossible to use words: you pics speaks! I can image those place, that silence, the atmosphere. Quite a religious experiencie. Viele Tanke!!!!

Seit locker 20 Jahren träume ich den gleichen Traum. Bis Spitzbergen und Alaska habe ich es geschafft. Ich würde mich sehr über einen ausführlichen Reisebericht freuen. Vielleicht gewinne ich ja doch noch irgendwann die Sofortrente. Seid Ihr von Argentinien oder Chile gestartet?

Seufz, ich werde die Bilder mit ins Bett nehmen. Das Eis, die Pinguine und die Robben;sie sind einfach zum träumen schön.

Mir ist ein interessantes Buch in die Hände gefallen, von einem Ehepaar, daß mit wechselnder Crew die Antarktis umsegelt hat. Heide Wilts: Wilder Stiller Ozean. Es handelt sich um den letzten Band der Reisebeschreibung.

Das letzte Foto ist ja absolut, auch wenn darauf kein Eis zu sehen ist. Und dann ist der schwimmende " Eisquader " spektakulär... Dank und Neid von mir ;-)

I cannot believe I never left my comment here. Andreas, you DO know how to enjoy life. What a fantastic trip. I met Amyr Klink a couple of months ago, here in Brasília. He gave a lecture when my son's school celebrated its 40th 'birthday'. I even took a photo with him. The guy is fantastic. Hope you meet him someday, hopefully in Paraty.
